Can they run of lp ? Some how??

I am looking for a John Deere Hit and Miss running engine. Any of those motors for sale?

Is there a difference in the inside diameters? I got a small bushing from you once, and when I went to install it, the bushing did not fit on the shaft of the frame.

am working on a mod. 31 . Serial 607701 . Have it running for couple minutes. But it just fades out & quits! :-(

Mine is running pretty low on rpm level and it takes no load on the flywheel do you know what the problem could be, I don’t think it’s the governor thingy

so far i have changed two... really easy to do....and what a difference it makes. Thanks Zach

Hi i just have a quick question, first off i just bought a 92 maytag hit and miss, i took off the spark plug with the wire connected and put the sparkplug to the engine and theres no spark, i put my finger there and it shocks me which makes me beleive the coil is still good, and my guess is that maybe the magnet inside is weak, i did check the magnetism of the ring and it didnt seem to have much compared to most magnets or even flywheel magnets on chainsaws or small engines, so with your experience in these do you think thats my problem, this is my very first hit n miss engine,

Could you tell me where I can get parts for one of these Maytag motors

Do you have a points kit for the 92 maytag. Or can this do the same thing on that engine. I'm thinking that it can.

Zach,the reason I was watching your video earlier, because I restored one long while back and it ran like shit,It was hitting pretty hard and jumping around all over the place.I set the ignition up like you showed and the timing was way the hell off.Now it runs great,i will have to check my other engines now..Thanks.

I learned more about the 92 ignition system from this short, to-the-point video than I did from hours of watching some old pot-smoking hippie attempting to "splain" it between side-stories and stuffing little debbie cakes in his mouth...well done and thank you!

I have a similar engine in my garage. I have no idea what brand it is, but it has a magneto, not at all like this one and a really wierd carb set up, as if it ran on natural gas or something.... thanks for making this vid. it put me closer to identifying the little beast!
