As a long-term resident of Austin, I have witnessed an influx of people from various parts of the world who are purchasing the limited homes available in the city to set up Airbnbs. This surge is largely attributed to the influence of the internet and social media, which have portrayed Austin as the ideal place to invest. Unfortunately, this situation has become highly frustrating for those of us who actually live here and own homes, as well as for young individuals working in the city who are striving to purchase their first home. Although I generally advocate for limited government intervention and legislation, I firmly believe that implementing certain parameters in places like Austin is necessary to prevent a repetition of the challenges the city has faced over the past five years. Everyone talks about the Austin market, but the city and the neighborhoods around it are actually quite small and intimate.

Missouri vines saved the French wine industry 100 yrs ago due to blight on the vines. Many wineries nearby which are great!

Basically, you don't really want to live in any neighborhood north of Olive. These neighborhoods which on one time had nice brick middle class homes were overrun with crime and destruction. Whole blocks had to be razed by the city to try to stop the burning, squatters and crime in these areas. The city of St. Louis which had a population of around 860 thousand in the 1950 census in now around 300 thousand. Much of that loss of population occurred in those areas you talked about.

Smh this says to me, they have never seen Saint Louis. These are known neighborhoods. They have a horrible representation but sadly, that is the truth about the city of Saint Louis. I grow up on the South side of Saint Louis yet you can't miss the tragedy that is the northside
