Contrapunctus #1 (The Art of Fugue) BWV1080 by J.S. Bach - organ version
(Previously posted 2020/03/28)
The Art of Fugue is the last set of fugues and canons Bach wrote before he died in 1750. The last piece was not finished.
Bach did not specify the instrumentation. In the 19th century, the Austrian composer Carl Czerny arranged the pieces for solo piano. Over the years the pieces have also been performed in a string or brass ensemble.
#SongsOfComfort is an idea started by world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma for musicians to share their music amid the C-19 crisis.

Bach Matthew Passion (BWV244) #78: Chorale (a personal arrangement for piano)

There are 2 surviving oratorios composed by Bach based on the Gospels of Matthew & John. The music to the oratorio based on the Mark Gospel was lost. The other masterpiece is the Christmas Oratorio divided into 6 shorter cantatas performed on Sundays between Christmas & Epiphany in several churches in Leipzig, Germany including the famous St. Thomas church. The Matthew Passion is an oratorio wi...
French Suite #3 - Sarabande (BWV814) by J.S. Bach
Просмотров 62Месяц назад
(Previously posted 2024-01-17) Inspired by a performance in 1985 by Keith Jarrett the Jazz improviser. Didn't learn the piece until 2 decades later but the learning is ongoing. Bach composed the set of 6 French suites between 1722-1725. Like the 6 English Suites, these were dance movements in various styles than entirely French. #SongsOfComfort is an idea started by world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo...
When You Wish Upon a Star

Many children believe that if you make a wish after seeing the first star in the night sky, your wish will come true. The song was written by Ned Washington & Leigh Harline for Disney's "Pinocchio" in 1940. It won the 1940 Oscar for 'Best Original Song' and was subsequently adopted as the theme song for the Walt Disney Co. It was released at the time when the first Disneyland theme park opened ...

Haydn Symphony 94 "Surprise": Andante
Просмотров 1107 месяцев назад
Condensed piano version (the first section in C major). The original is played with an orchestra. Haydn wrote the piece with dynamic changes to keep the audience from falling asleep when the slow movement of the symphony is played. At the end of the intro, there is a C major chord played very loud to wake people up in case they're dozing off. Then the theme is repeated with variations. The beat...
Chorale 23 from Bach Matthew Passion (BWV244): "Ich will hier bei dir stehen"
Просмотров 879 месяцев назад
The original hymn is in Latin. The German text was by the German Lutheran theologian Paul Gerhardt which Bach incorporated into the Matthew Passion as Chorale 21, 23, 53, 63 & 72. Each in a different key & slight variations. The English version came out later as "O Sacred Head Now Wounded" based on a long medieval poem attributed to Bernard of Clairvaux. The Matthew Passion (BWV244) is performe...

Sonatina in G (Anh. 5): Moderato - Romanze by Beethoven
Is it weighted
Definitely not wighted. The keys feel like cheap plastic. Otherwise it's sort of playable when doing easier pieces. So far I haven't seen a retailer that sells it in the US or Canada so can't really try it at the store. I did find it in a store in Asia so I did try it before buying it.
Nice! I like and play this song too!
AI crud
This is cool. Thank you. I already bought it before finding this vid though xD. I've been looking into the whole lithium ion battery thing to see if I can bring it on a plane with me and I'm still not sure. What I would really like to know is how to use it on pc. I connect with the cable it came with and it just starts charging. I wanted to do the MIDI thing. Seems I have to install a separate software. I even made ana ccount at their websit and registered the product but no sofwatre to download. Only the manual book.
I had both the laptop and the Folding Piano 88 in the same carry on luggage on a flight, not in the check-in luggage. Definitely need to let both go through the X-Ray machine. The customs people were rather curious if the keyboard was used to hide anything illegal inside. To use the keyboard as a MIDI device to a computer, just plug in the cable. The cable is for both power & MIDI. When you plug in the cable, you should hear a beep sound that MIDI is enabled. I'm using Windows 10 on my computer. Don't need to install any software or driver. Don't know which operating system and program you are using. Some programs like MuseScore there is an icon you click to turn MIdI on / off.
@@thepianoplayer416 Wow thanks for an answer and so quickly. I do imagine them at the airport unfolding the piano in front of everybody to check what it is and then going like "oh this is pretty cool... Ok, no bombs here" xD. Yea my laptop did that connecting sound and on Bluetooth and Devices even showed the piano but nothing opened up. I'm using Win11. I've been looking at MidiEditor, Can also see about that MuseScore.
I’ve never seen a retailer that sells it as of 12/1/24.
Don't know your location. I haven't seen it in a store in the US or Canada besides ordering it online. I travelled to Asia (Hong Kong Tom Lee Music to be specific) that sells piano & keyboard. The keyboard comes in different colors including black, white, blue, etc. At the time of the purchase only white was in stock. Other colors were out of stock. It's probably available in other places like Taiwan, Korea & Japan.
No qulity sund
It doesn't have a realistic piano sound but for travelling, you can't pack a full-size digital piano into a suitcase. Most people have room for at least an upright piano at home. If you're on vacation somewhere and need to practice, something like this would be ideal. At the moment digital technology is not at the point of giving people a real piano action or sound that is like a piano that you can't tell the difference.
Nice playing of a lovely piece!
Well done!
It brings me memories of my youth.
In my younger days I had little exposure to Jazz music. My father had a collection of Classical pieces by Mozart, Haydn & Beethoven. Anyway, this song came out before my time. In my younger days I was into Classical music and when I think of Disney, I'd think of "Snow White". On top of the list was the Disney version of "Sleeping Beauty" with the famous Tchaikovsky Waltz playing in the background.
Very nice!
Bruh i wanted that piano for my birthday but, im still happy with my carry on piano
Depends on how frequent you travel and how much time you spend away from home. Someone like myself who would spend at least 1 month of the year away from home I prefer a portable keyboard that is as close to a keyboard with weighted keys or a piano as i can get.
really helpful and well done comprehensive review, many thanks for this!
the key response on voyage looks really bad. spring feel keyboard. pass.
That's good for only a week of practice.
I've been playing long enough to know my strengths & weaknesses. Like many people I started with slow practice so recording #1 was the slower version. Played it at a faster tempo and decided at some point this is the ideal tempo. Teachers & students would rate this as an intermediate piece. Composers don't write music that fit into specific conservatory levels. Compared to many of the Bach pieces I played before, this is technically simpler.
This is a very good review, covering every aspect that needs to be talked about. Every question is answered in depth, that is seldom for a review. No matter if in text-form or as video. Thumbs up!
Wonderful!
Very nice playing! What is the laptop software?
It's Pianoteq v8. Not the latest version but did the job very well.
nice job.
Beautiful and well played.
Well done - keep up that practice no matter where you are!
it says on the website that lead time is 7 to 8 weeks, isn't it the case? And are you in the US? Thanks.
When you shop online, you expect a faster delivery time. 7 to 8 weeks for delivery is almost 2 months. When an item is not available to be shipped within a week, the website would normally put in the text "out of stock" so that the customer can place the order at a later time. Where I'm at (Canada) between the order date (last July 2023) and the delivery (January 2024) was nearly 6 months. The past year many car models were on waiting list for a few months. The dealership would accept a small deposit and ask the customer to pay in full when the item arrives. When you pay in full, you expect a much quicker delivery.
Imagine just talking, instead of this AI generated trash.
hey maybe the dude's accent is really strong and bad, but I agree the AI voiceover is terrible lmao but those glitchy artifacts when there's silence sound pretty lit
twice sped up it is almost tolerable
This is so helpful! Thanks for uploading this
Nice performance ! I couldn't say more
Thanks...
Nicely played!
Very nice!
Thank you for your support...
nice video work!
there is a much less price Cossain Bora BX15S with nice speakers and very good sound it is levels above all other folding pianos for 229$ US
Hatikva!
Israeli national anthem? lol
Did you use AI for this arrangement?
The answer is no. The piece was put together the old-fashioned way "by ear". Can probably get AI to come up with pieces in different styles. Great suggestion to try. Early music tend to be simple. The keyboard instruments of the day had 61 keys at most. Composers wouldn't write pieces that require moving up & down a few octaves & changing keys. The consideration were not to overembellish the harmonies and create something playable on a harpsichord or clavichord of the day. Imagine if Bach had a computer. If he had an 88 piano he'd be writing music more like Chopin or Liszt. Thanks for your comments... 🙂👍
Lovely duet! Do you use Narrator for the title? Thanks for being accessibility-friendly. Great job and nice piano!
Loved it!
Wonderful duet !
Nice playing guys.
Bravooo 👏👏👏👏
Well played man👏👏 deserves more likes
So beautiful....love this classic song. Keep on sharing, good luck.
I was looking for another Pop song during the Christmas break and stumbled across this piece. Thanks for your comments.
Well done, with an AI to introduce the piece. 🤣
Loved it!
This is fantastic!
Sorry i upgraded from MuseScore 3.6 to MuseScore 4
I need to lean this next Christmas. It's such a catchy tune!
Last summer I came across someone performing a piano arrangement of "O Holy Night". People were listening to the music and posting comments in the middle of June! Good music & good performances are timeless. Otherwise Christmas tunes are limited to the first half of Dec. Some people would start playing them in Nov. when decorations starts going up in public places incl shopping malls.
I think this company went under. Their website sold out on this keyboard and when I called the number, it says the number is no longer in service. Then I emailed them and got no response.
In the beginning I wasn't sure if the keyboard was an original or knockoff of another brand. They did have a website & Facebook page active for a while. The last few months the people selling the keyboard were like salespeople at a liquidation warehouse who wanted to get rid of their stock. Ask them a question you get no reply like they're not providing any customer support.
Loved it!
Digitized voices turn me off.
I hadn't heard this Marcello / Bach piece before, thanks for sharing!
👌Bach wrote many pieces for the keyboard (including the organ & harpsichord). Some concertos by Marcello & Vivaldi were rearranged for keyboard and compiled into a volume. Some of the pieces are for keyboard solo while others are played with an ensemble as accompaniment.
Loved it!
