I find these early novels and classics so soothing - before the feminism and anarchy took over. I feel sorry for the honourable Cardross. Even so he got less nagging and humiliating than men get from today's society.

The end is there but some other part of the book is out of order and tacked on to the what is the end of the book. I checked my book. Chapter 15 is the last chapter. Actual end of book is at the 3:29:00 with “Supper is served y lady”.

Surely something is read out of order in Part 3. Pitiful! An enjoyable book to read. Thinking I’ll get my book out and finish it myself. 🤨

End of story is missing and it jumps over parts 😢.
