I just consider (having seen thousands of people playing piano, including hundreds of chinese...) that very often, they are boring, not innovative, with echnical dexterity but thematically void, with no personal signature. In general: with no genius at all. You may consider this a prejudice, but IMO is just my empirical observation, something as close to the truth I could see atm. If you consider that to be "racist", go and suck your own tail of your ouroboric paranoia.

    Enjoyed that! It is a shame that in the classical music world improvisation has almost disappeared, although very recently it is coming back. Bach, Mozart and even the Romantic composers were great improvisers, and little by little improvisation has been reserved to jazz.

    Wow! I actually identifie a lot with this (not that I would be at their level of improvisational skills). But this is the kind of thing I would love doing and I haven’t still found anyone to do it with... I have some friends who play jazz and all but for this you have to really have studied classic piano and at the same time be the kind of analytical nerd who would know what to play regarding each composer. I love doing that at home! And I know these guys also were having a lot of fun!

      You can look up Partimento playing for some first steps; also, here on YT the channel of En blanc et noir is a helpful resource. Nahre Sol provides some inspiring but difficult examples. It's hard to find a good actual teacher though...
