thanks for this video, it was super helpful! If I'm only trying to measure a portion of a line (say two thirds of the line or an arbitrary amount), is it possible with the measure distance tool also? and does it work for curved lines?

Hi Jay, I just watched your 2-hour long tutorial, AutoCAD complete course for 2023 MAC. It was tremendously helpful. Thank you so much for creating it. One thing that was not covered and that I cannot find instructions for anywhere is how to add a scale bar to a layout. Is that not possible in AutoCAD?

Can I ask where the rest of the cadblocks are? I downloaded the free ones from the description, but it isnt separated into 'JC - XX' e.g. JC-FIXTURES, and I don't have cadblocks like double sinks, a bathtub, dishwasher etc. Where can I find them?

i dont have the options i see you have. when i draw a line, I see nothing but my points, no date at all. how are you doing that? how do you type in the actual lengths you want? so vague

ctrl + a, command "filter", under select filter choose "point" then "add to list", click apply and it will select all points in the drawing outside of any groups regardless of layers

Hey, I'd like to find out how to use fields within my title block so that they change depending on definitions made within the properties of projects within 'project manager'. I may have misunderstood how this works but I know something equivalent is possible on windows. Either way, a tutorial on using project manager, a title block and ideally fields altogether would be a welcome video. 😊

Just one question: Around minute 2:50 in the video use reference an intersection and then drag the mouse in the direction you want, type 8' and then your first point is 8' away from the original intersection at the start of the line. This is not working at all for me at all. I am hovering over the intersection until it says "node" in green, then dragging my mouse to the right, then typing 8' then enter. AutoCAD just starts my line in random places not 8' away. Please help!

Jay, I want to thank you for really going through these steps slowly for beginners. I'm in a online class where my instructor didn't mention setting the dimensions setting to "standard" - I've been trying for 2 days trying to figure out why I can't get my rectangle to give proper dimensions. OMG! You said this is the first sentence and clarified my 2 days of complete frustration. She uses a PC and I'm on a Mac. Not sure but I've got both a PC and Mac because I took a TurboCad class last semester that required me to have a PC. When I tried this on my PC, the dimensions came up correctly right away. I couldn't figure this out. But your instruction within the first 2 minutes solved my problem. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am going to take your class for beginners. I don't use computers that much and all this is new to me. But I need to learn this program but need have videos where I can review and review. Would I be able to ask questions from you if I was confused in your online class program? Christy PS: I do have 1 question -- After choosing my dimension size, do I hit the "enter" button on the right corner or do I hit the "return" button on my keyboard?
