Thanks, Nicole. No, we don’t have any footage for getting out, but that is like getting in just in reverse. We previously kayaked from a dock, and getting in the kayak from a zodiac was much easier. The dock is higher than the kayak, and getting in can be tricky. With the zodiac on one side and the guide on the other, that was the most stable kayak to get in that I ever seen. I understand your concern, we had it as well, but it was a lot easier than expected.

Yes, tourism is nowhere near the level it was before the pandemic. That’s nice for us, but also sad for the people working in the tourism industry. It’s a win-win situation to travel right now: we get less crowds and we also help those people affected by the pandemic.

Yes, exactly. Probably a head mount would have been nicer because of the vantage point. The colors are also better on the iPhone.

@@travelfoss The colours of GoPro 10 is quite nice if you're thinking of an upgrade 😅 I should use my phone more often too..

@@Fishaholicboy To be honest we are not big fans of GoPro because of their buggy software, both on the camera and on the phone. Even so, we tried the GoPro 10 in Iceland, before going to Antarctica. Unfortunately the battery on the 10 could not handle 0 degrees Celsius. Our old GoPro 7, with old batteries, did a better job in cold temperature.

Yes, iPhones have pretty good cameras. We like the iPhone shots more than the GoPro ones, but you can't really kayak and record :D

@@travelfoss you could always get a waterproof phone case! But I’m always scared of dropping it 😂

@@Fishaholicboy a lanyard would probably do the trick, so you don’t lose it. Otherwise, the iPhone *should* rezist a little bit of water 🙏. The main problem we have with waterproof cases is that your camera will shoot through an additional layer of plastic which might damage the image quality.

@@travelfoss Yes, I agree that the plastic can affect the image quality, although some of them are really clear. Just need to find a good one :)

These particular shots were made with the phone being handheld. We also had a gopro with a chest mount. We wrote about our experience in Antarctica in our blog in case you want to check it out.
