Welcome to the RUclips channel of Jasmine, NZ dog agility competitor and dairy farmer! My dogs are "Sheez A Bright Spark ETD" aka Sparkie, the 15 year old Border Collie x Kelpie retired assistance dog, "Killarah Shadowed Hero NTD AD JDX" aka Skuggi, the 8 year old Koolie agility dog, and my youngest recruit "Swift Hand Of Fate" aka Swifty, a 20 month old NZ heading dog who does both agility and herding. The other animal who has a frequent appearance on the channel is "Zuko," my Jersey x Friesian steer who has just started under saddle!
Calving season 2024
Calving season 2024! What a mission for my first season as a solo calf rearer, so much rain and so much mud, and equipment not holding up to the demands of the season. At the beginning of this month 80% of the farm went underwater while about the same time we had an outbreak of crypto that went through nearly the whole calf shed 😅 But we got through it and my little babies are looking fantastic!
Couldn't have got through it without the help of little Swifty though helping me shift calves around every day, so thankful she got to come home with me last winter ❤ Best coworker of all time.
Definitely think we have earned our little holiday to the north island this week!

He's come so far
Hi. After seeing how well trained your dogs are I just had one question. I'm in the process of training a fainting response dog with small mobility tasks as well as balance assistance for myself. She's practically done with training. However the other day she was attacked by an off leash dog and now seems to be more timid around other dogs. She gets distracted by them easily. Any tips to get her over this??
Hi there, thank you very much for the compliment! Personally I would try signing up for a dog obedience class (not so much for training but getting her used to working around other dogs again in a safe and controlled environment). Skuggi used to be afraid of other dogs as well but taking him to obedience class really helped him learn that most dogs wouldn't actually try to hurt him. :)

Thanks! This was taken nearly two years ago, she's been working amazingly and we've had a lot of adventures together since. She's actually being retested next week. :)

Very nicely done! About the only odd event I spotted was sniffing at something quickly in one of the stores about a 1/4 way in but continued on composed as though nothing happened so was nothing to complain about. So what was the outcome/result? Any chance of a video of the obedience and tasks test(s)?
+Glen O'Riley Thank you! We passed the test and Sparkie was certified as a fully trained service dog. Unfortunately I did not get any other videos. Sorry. Sparkie is being retested near the end of this year so I will try to get another video then. :)
