Accomplish The Impossible
США
Добавлен 12 окт 2012
Welcome to my Channel, I post many odd find how to videos of items not usually in the hands of the average Joe. I always strive to do my best describing items and how things work. The video is called accomplish the impossible for a reason.
Many of us in our life will find a passion or project that others had thought to be impossible. What people fail to say is the possibilities are endless. I say it's time we start imaging again and sharing our knowledge with our fellow man. So if the thirst for knowledge or passion to teach others brings you here, then strap in and enjoy the ride.
"Our problems are man made therefore they can be solved by man and man can be as big as he wants. No problem of human destiny is beyond human beings. Mans reason and spirit have often solved the seemingly unsolvable, and we believe they can do it again." - John F Kennedy

Here is a smaller Harris radio. This is the mono band lineup of the XG75 series. These radios were primarily used by first responders. I personally used this radio when I was a firefighter. I can truly say they are rugged and durable. There radios are averaging 300 to 400 used online. Make sure you can obtain RPM software and have the appropriate programming cable if considering these radios. I...

GTA 5 untold stories (fun with friends) in San Diego
There's so much wrong with the description in this video it's just sad. The small rack of equipment in the cellular shelter is not replacing everything in the racks in the long lines shelter. The cellular transmitters and receivers are at the top of the tower inside the antennas as opposed to the long lines TX/RX/Amps being down in the shelter. Also the functionality of a long lines site is to provide a backbone for the carrier and would not have had any subscribers directly connected to it. A cellular site directly handles subscriber traffic. The inaccuracies in this video are driving my OCD off the charts.
please see my video on how a cell site works in my channel. The small black nokia rackmount system is infact a microwave backhaul. the cell site system in located in a completely different rack. In this setup the Nokia handles backhaul via MW hop and a Ericsson BBU handles the cell traffic and node managment.
Not only do You need to run pressurized to keep outside air out you actually need to run at an overpressure of more than one atmosphere so that the outgoing air precludes air entering, It's basically always blowing out with more force than the atmosphere would normally push in
Hello, Astro is failing to read my XTS3000. im using an FTDI cable to convert 9pin to USB on win XP. Astro is recognizing the com port but is failing to read the radio. Any help would be much appreciated.
I think that equipment was more modern than the 1970s.
cps sucks. When importing new repeaters, it will del all the old. What a pain in the ass. Only reason I keep it is because it has great audio and battery life. Plus its weather resident and wide open tx.
Bell Long Lines were fun to talk on. Sometimes you could get some nice echoes due to multipathing.
How do I do frequency copy on this radio. I bought the 390 plus?? Please help me and my shield is blue and red only when on digital channels?
Thank you!!! Having trouble with this radio as well
I heard that this actually has lower latency than a fiber optic line. Or at least that was true when a stock trader developed his own system of these going from New York stock exchange to Chicago's.
I just bought upm 6b on ebay in the Uk
shit radio. audio is great in and out but the rest is shit
Thanks for the tour. I used to be a Security Officer for Admiral Security in January 1996 when we had that snow, and I was at Bell Atlantic/AT&T site on Turner Road and Hull Street in Chesterfield County, Virginia. I used to patrol both buildings at night after escorting the Phone Operators safely to their vehicles so they could go home. There were techs in the building doing tech work, so I wasn't totally alone there. We had a basement and a sub-basement that had a large generator in a large room. There was a mid-sized battery room, too. I think both Bell Atlantic and AT&T vacated both buildings some years ago.
It's nice to see that some of the old installation art has endured till today. I remember back in the 1970's watching the Western Electric guys lacing in wires and cables on a cable rack. It was a work of art that they took pride in.
Spent many summer nights relaxing on the top platform of a main hub LL site here in Connecticut. In fact, it was one of the first LL sites ever built, that was actually part of the original test run from NY to Boston. One of the most unique LL sites out here is the Mohawk Mountain site, which also doubled as a US Forest Service Fire Tower. Fun fact: The Durham site was also once a military training site for the local surrounding Nike Missile sites, and also carried comms for the DEW Line, and other Airforce and Coast Guard facilities such as the Texas Tower 4, Camp Hero across the sound in Long Island, along with VLF Cutler up in Maine. Most of the sites unfortunately had thier Hogg Antennas (Western Electric KS series horn antennas) removed for cellular retrofits, and almost all sites across the US are now owned and operated by ATC, who leases space to clients and carriers. Here's another fun fact: there's one site that has two underground tunnels that went to two interesting places; one being military housing for a local Nike site, and another being the launch control center for that site. Both tunnels still have their original lighting, ventilation, and equipment, including a few vehicles and cold war/nuclear lock down supplies that most of the sites were built for. (blast detection and protection). Don't ask, because that is one hidden gem that will be forever protected from all you vandals out there. 📡 🇺🇸
There are still a set of AT&T Long Lines towers still standing in a small city in Middle TN. There is a building below the towers. There's always a car there, so I am not sure what AT&T is using this building for, and why these towers have stayed there for so long. Doesn't seem to host any DSL c/o. and its not running any active antennas for cell data. Do you know where this is?
To me the equipment in this CO looks modern compared to the equipment I remember back in the 1970's. I was in a CO when the 5ESS was brand new technology, now all of this has become obsolete. Back in the 60's, and 70's when my dad worked at a regional toll center the long distance switching machine called 4A took up 2 whole huge floors of crossbar and every other kind of relays. And the noise was incredible! The first floor was filled with 4w test boards, SF units, L carrier equipment (LMX),and N carrier equipment. And the top (4th) floor was all TD-2 microwave equipment. It was breath taking! Now it's all gone.
Remembering my days in the 70's when I spent time with my dad at a toll CO when he worked for PT&T (Bell System), on the microwave floor. That alarm panel indicated what kind of equipment alarm. PWR is a power alarm, C1 alarm was the order wire bay for communicating with the Main CO in the region, LMX is L carrier multiplex - channel modulation of phone circuits over TD-2 or TD-3 microwave radio, not sure of the others. The bottom row looks like all the different open door alarms. There also would of been colored light bulbs hanging down from the top framework on every isle : red is a major alarm, amber is a fuse alarm and green is a minor alarm. You can still see the alarm bells mounted on a board on a pillar in the background.
Oh, that's right, the B is for basement and the 1 is for first floor. The TD-3 alarm was the microwave terminal equipment, FM probably refers to the frequency modulators (FMT's and FMR's) .
This brings back memories of the days my dad worked for PT&T and later AT&T in the 60's, 70's and 80s. I went to work with him often. Before he retired, he worked in microwave, but it was all the old TD-2 and TH radio. This is the first time I've ever seen DR-6 . The latest facility I saw was called AR-6.
Youre a boss! I was wondering if I had got a basic 390 instead of a 390Plus since universal wasn't applying. Now it works perfectly! Thank you!!!!
Bro got a gaming setup 😀😀😀
In the 2.41 version on the channel info screen there is a space titled message format where you can select either M format or DMR format. What is this for? This was not included in the previous version.
It was called RF Skip
You can brick a radio and permanently stop its function? That’s a hefty price to pay. I want to learn and get into Harris I think they are better than Motorola IMO. Great video!
Great vid
Beg to differ, software and firmware IS available on li ne..
Link?
Just bought the Ailunce ham radio DMR great little radio
The view at :40 is beautifull
Just ordered one from ol Rick in Humboldt. Its out for delivery for tomorrow!
I'm seriously dizzy I can't watch this The camera work is terrible
Pls tell us how is this machine preforming so far ?… I suffer from all kind of allergy … thank you 🙏🏻
Great job love the Linux boot up
Yo
Great video! Incredibly informative and super interesting! Can you talk a little about how these sites are monitored remotely? Is it a site to site vpn with something like SNMP or more proprietary protocols? Thanks! Subbed and joined the discord!
Unfortunately it's highly proprietary and quiet to my knowledge. I know each vendor has their own system to monitor the sites
That antenna is a pretty advanced phased array. Beam forming. The way the DC-DC converter can find the correct input voltage for the desired output voltage is by monitoring its output voltage and current. It can figure out how much loss is involved and calculate the correct compensation voltage.
Nice video! How did you get into the field? I think I'd enjoy this as a job.
I have seen HDMI on dell and nether switches to stack them. Now I know it happens on even bigger equipment, crazy. Amazing vid!!!
T-Mo has nationwide 600MHz on band 71
Amazing how advanced some of our modern telecom infrastructure is. The old clicky automatic switches have a special place in my heart though.
Whats the power output of the TX?
Does the cellsite connect to a netowork cordinator some where to validate the subscriber etc. I assume all interconnction is done by IP now?
From what I understand the core handles authentication, and all of this is done via IP
I'm pretty sure the GPS signal isn't for locating the tower. That can be hard coded. I'm pretty sure that the GPS signal is used as a time base for Timing Advance.
It is in fact location. We script these on a daily basis
@@ATI556 I'll defer to your expertise. I used to hang radios during 2G to 3G upgrades. CDMA.
@@MikeF1189 Ahh the old GSM and UMTS cabinets I have seen too many to count!
very awesome video, cell sites are fascinating and genius the way they work
A couple VZW sites by me have their feedlines go through a pipe before going in the shelter. My only thought would be a choke for lightning??
One carrier doesn't even have batteries at a site by me. Their other site has a new diesel generator that has had a fault code for months and doesn't run when the power is out.
T-cough cough*
@@randykitchleburger2780 how did you know??

Great video!! I recently had the opportunity to spend the day at a large Verizon cellular switching office based in SE Michigan.. Security was super tight.. Definitely no pictures.. Each floor of the building held different radio equipment for the various bands.. 2g-3g-4g-5g .. one complete floor for hundreds of batteries. I looked at the COW's on site, drones they use and a mobile cell CO in the back of a huge trailer-truck with satellite dishes mounted on top. The 8 or so ac units, a hook up for a diesel fuel tanker to provide fuel for the 8 or so generators in case electrical system failed. Then the main command center staffed 24-7 showing ALL VZ sites in the State displayed on huge monitors and they had various colors to them for troubles or other. Plus a huge weather radar screens as well. Once in a lifetime experience. Would like to know what are the top 5 issues that break or fail at any one tower site?
Watched every second, great job!!
Love this stuff... I still want to be a cell site auditor somehow. I wouldn't mind traveling around central texas to inspect cell sites and get paid for it.
I would love to read that ATT handbook of norms and standards. How can I get a hold of one of those?
so neat
In France, we dont really use DMR for public safety, we use Tetra, DMR is only for businesses or in some very specific cases special forces might use some with AES encryption
DefCon had an interesting talk on cracking the weak encryption on Tetra.
