Really thoughtful interior design. What material did you use for the cabinetry?
Thank you. The cabinets are all welded aluminum square tube and skinned in aluminum as well.
on your new generation you put a red latch, you install with rivet? I would like to do this on mine too. Thanks from Montreal
When will these be back in stock????
Why not show how to remove vents or refer to another video how to remove them. Too much guesswork. Oh and why not show actual drilling instead of simulated? This is one of the most incomplete and worst install videos I have seen. I guess you’re trying to encourage folks to use one of your partners to do the install.
At 1:05 which front bumper did you install?
Thank you
Damn man, that is such a well thought out design and quality build. Very cool
This is so inspiring. I wouldn’t change anything accept adding a fridge drawer for beer. Lol but yeah man absolute master piece. Good job.
Why didn’t you show the wiring connection? One scene shows two wires dangling, the next scene shows it all done. WTF? Too long showing a screw and nut connection and not enough of the wiring.

Hey I seen this truck in the camp ground next to my subdivision in highfalls. I'm a fellow overlander.. beautiful rig you got there
Thank you. Stop by and say hello sometime if you see the rig. Be parked here a while 😉
@ExpeditionEssentials will do! I see you pull in this evening. I was in the black gladiator rubicon pulling out lol
I have to cut this extension wire. What kind of wire connectors do I need to use to reattach the wires to the connector plug? Or can I just use a heat shrink connector to rejoin the wires in the middle without disturbing the plug connector?
Can you please answer my question? I'm sure others have the same problems. Remember, customer service is a major part of future sales.
Do you use 2x10AWG for positive and 1x 8AWG for negative?
It would have helped to see how it is mounted exactly on a truck.
That's what I came for!
Looks like he used a drill and bolts. Sounded like he said your vehicle footprint needs to support bolt hole locations. How are you confused?
Very nice and well built!!
I can't wait for this to be back in stock. I can't stand my current mount. Trying to get all four prongs through the board then twisting them all 😅
Unfortunately the camera wasn’t pointed at what was being described most of the time. Well done though on your end Jeff. Nice work! Would love to see it in a better filmed video please.
Sorry about that. We have a fresh build being completed soon. Hope to have a good video coming
Hard to truly appreciate all your fine efforts. Video needs more lighting.
Noted
How much for the interior build, or did I miss it?
They range by the project. Most custom builds start in the 10-15k range but can be higher depending on options.
Very nice work👍
so you dont need huge power lines to go that distance? 4 ga or 0 gauge like my amps?
Is part #180415 included ?
can you make this for the single compressor?
We currently offer two variations for the ARB single, being with or without locker solenoid wiring. You can find them at expeditionessentials.com
We just found them to be tight and and with a little bit of prying came loose. However we were suggested from another installer that they used a hook awl.
How do you loosen the air vents?
Sorry if I missed it in the video, but what is the weight of this build? Dry weight, with the Canopy Camper?
Unfortunately we were unable to weigh before and after with the delivery schedule.
Needs an outlet behind the fridge or kitchen module to charge equipment on that fold down outside table
Cool idea!
Any concerns for the Instant water heater exhaust heat? Love the mount idea but curious? thx. Great build btw.
Not at all, it’s pretty much exclusively getting used while the side door is open. Exhaust goes outside
This is the best interior build yet for a Taco!! Well done Sir!! Can't wait to see what you do with the larger space of a Canopy Cabin on a Tundra!!
Thanks a bunch!😎
Absolutely perfectly thought out piece of kit.Great finished products and we’ll thought out. What was the cost of that buildout?
Thank you much appreciated, this build came out to a little over 20k
@@ExpeditionEssentials wow not bad especially for complete custom work.
0:43 seconds in and he’s already answered my question! It’s much appreciated!! Had to sit through 15min of another video with ridiculous commentary and sound effects and they never showed how to take the HVAC panel out.
When he opened the hutch under the sink I though 😮”No-Way” an oven for making brownies” umm…
😂
Can the exo table house a Partner Steel Co 22”- 2 burner stove?
18” only
@@ExpeditionEssentials dang!
No way for a custom mod to house a 22”? Or simply not enough real estate to do so?
Not enough room. If they made a 20” it would be perfect.
Do you have to use a key to open it?
Yes that’s correct.
Pretty sweet build… nice ingenuity
Thank you.
Amazing setup! Where do the grey waters from the sink go?
I have been looking for an outfit that I could trust doing a highly customized electric setup in a truck camper. And here is the answer plus a lot more. I saw a custom van build with a 280 watt alternator, 3,000 watt inverter, an autostart system plus over 800 amp-hours of lithium. Able to run an a/c for 12-14 hours. But the autostart feature was set up to start the engine when voltage got below a certain point, ensuring round the clock a/c as long as the van had fuel. This outfit is the first I have found that can do all that plus everything else in a truck camper. Bravo.
Rad! I need a side table for the JT.
I've used that microwave in my campervan and the door flies open on smooth fire roads so how does it stay shut on a 4x4 truck? I also remove the glass turntable while driving so it doesn't crash onto the floor when/if the door opens. Been thinking about making a simple velcro latch, but it's not a problem on pavement which is where my van lives 99% of the time.
Thanks for the feedback Brett. We figured the turntable didn’t need to ride in the micro. Good to know on the door. Will have the owner keep an eye on it.
Wow! What a beautiful build out! I would be concerned about the weight on a Tacoma chassis. I am doing and Alucabin on a 3/4 ton. Would like to replicate a build like this on that platform. Can you DM me with a ballpark cost? This is far beyond my ability to do myself….
@@jaykanngiesser3454 hey Jay. We definitely tried to keep it as light as possible with the material selection but you always need to be aware of the additional weight. Our company Tacoma had a similar buildout but we took additional steps to help safely carry the additional weight. Re geared, Heavier duty springs, heavier sway bars, upgraded brakes etc. if you are interested in a similar build email jeff@expeditionessentials.com. He can take care of any questions you may have. .
This table is just awesome...nice work man
This is actually my truck! If anyone is considering an overland build, please talk to Jeff at Expedition Essentials!! I guarantee you will LOVE what Jeff does. He creates ingenious custom solutions, to give you exactly what you want. He also helps guide you along the way. There were multiple times where he suggested a solution to a problem I hadn't even thought of yet! Another thing I want to highlight is the incredibly high quality of what Jeff builds. He not only invents and designs custom products and solutions, but he builds them with amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail. When he builds something, it looks like it just came out of a manufacturing facility, even though he hand-built it in his shop. Additionally, Jeff uses high quality powder-coated aluminum. So the products are extremely lightweight, but durable and look beautiful! I was so discouraged, looking around at the different "out-of-the-box" solutions to canopy camper interiors. I am incredibly lucky to have met Jeff and have had the privilege of having him do my custom build. I repeat. Call Expedition Essentials if you are doing any customization on your overlanding vehicle. You won't be disappointed!! Jeff and Missy are also just awesome people!! It was a real pleasure getting to know them! Sincerely, Seth
Congrats Seth! That looks great! I'm about to try and incorporate the same microwave in my build. Are you in Utah?
Can I ask how much the custom interior sink/table/storage cost you? The layout looks perfect for my needs!
Any update on the updated extreme version?
I just got this for Christmas and waiting for the 5lb adapter. What is your recommendation for a ladder mount?
They don’t care enough about customers to answer I guess
@@ty1977 found a mount and it works great. Had to drill a couple of holes though
Awesome , I need one of these too but can’t afford right now
@@ty1977 check out different mounts for propane tanks 11 pounders are best I think. Good luck
Will do . Thanks
Really hoping these come assembled lol.
Haha. They definitely do 😊
Will this work with Action Trax?
No only MaxTrax currently.
So this mount won’t work with max trax extremes? Also for the 4 board version, will a set of regular Max trax and a set of extremes work together?
Currently only MaxTrax MK2. Although some folks have modified to work with extreme.
@@ExpeditionEssentials Anywhere to find that mod?
Arb manual says to run an 8g cable for the ground but you guys use 10g? Will that be an issue?
Not cool that he didn't answer your question. Either he doesn't know the answer or he is only the salesman and not the creator.
Does it have a connection to provide 12v power to the on/off switch so you can have the arb switch near the compressor in the Tacoma bed?
Not currently. For the time being it is designed to carry all wires forward including switching.
@@ExpeditionEssentials So the switch wires are in the extended harness? So theoretically I could break them out near the plug into the compressor?
@@gregnauman922 yes that is correct. you could tap into them near the compressor side of the harness to add a closer switch.
Would you make a followup video of what it looks like once the installation is complete? One that shows it loaded up with possible components? The website only shows it naked as well. It would be helpful to see what all my options are. I am very new to this and just looking for ideas of what all I can do with this, plus, I have never seen the track mount, Where do I find info on the supporting hardware? Thanks!
A picture of the finished product would have been good.
