Fascinating episode. Loved it ❤
Awesome to hear :)
34:12 It's an exact description of what happened to me. Priorities change with time. When I was just starting I didn't care about the endless overtime hours and disproportionate amounts of stress, I was just happy to work there. Now I just want a well balanced life, giving priority to my family, mental health and just keep my hair from falling, LOL. I almost don't do any Overtime anymore. Loved this episode
Awesome stuff, was a great listen 🙌
Competition has always been central to progress. Are you deliberately avoiding the truth? Overpriced movies like Buzz Lightyear leave families disappointed, leading some to boycott Disney for generations. Audiences are increasingly frustrated with films and platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime prioritizing political agendas over storytelling. Meanwhile, industries like film production and VFX face criticism for hiring based on identity factors such as sexual orientation, religion, or race instead of talent. The focus must shift back to quality, creativity, and merit to rebuild trust and deliver value to audiences-though this may take years to achieve..
Thanks for making these episodes!

This was phenomenal. As someone in the industry for 4+yrs being able to relate and even learn more! I knew the bare minimum about bidding and tbh even the state of the industry post-strikes. Love this!
Really great to hear you were able to relate! We are hoping we can keep bringing informative content to the VFX Community :)
Make the audio less AI type! But this channel can be really HUGE in future!🤩
Good luck team! Looking forward to future episodes!
Thank you!
Please do another EP
Episode 2 is being recorded today! :)
sad but this is the only way IMHO
Unionizing all VFX jobs globally is a challenging but potentially transformative goal. It could lead to significant improvements in wages, working conditions, and industry standards for VFX professionals worldwide. However, overcoming the logistical and political hurdles will require substantial effort, coordination, and solidarity among VFX workers across the globe.
45:58 the new place now is Seoul
Hi Kurt. Thank you for launching this. I've been following your LinkedIn posts for a while now. And, I must say, it has engaged me a lot. I look forward to watching more episodes. Good luck with this initiative. If I may ask, is there a possibility you can do an episode on the matter of unemployment issues that have caused heavy turbulence in the industry over the past 1 year?
We will look into it!
Awesome stuff! Thanks.
Really cool conversation. I hope they will be more smaller budget movies. I'm not sure if storytelling has changed, there are a lot of shows which are also not good and participate just to add choices to svod services. We will see how goes 2025
We certainly hope studios will roll the dice! Original content just seems to be much better to relate to!
Really nice conversation! Thanks so much to both of you!
Glad you enjoyed mate!
