Thank you so much for posting this video. Actually, it's for the introduction of the 2006 Hertz Shelby GT-H. It was called a Shelby GT350-H back in the mid-'60s. Hertz teamed with Shelby-American in '66 to create the rental car. I rented the car twice out of Boston, with dash plate numbers 06H0023 and 06H0035. I made a scrapbook of that adventure because getting the car was quite an adventure. It didn't dawn on me to get a copy of the (high-definition) promo video posted here on YT by Hertz until after it was removed. Someone attempted a good effort to post a copy, but it is grainy. You can't read the disclaimers that say, 'closed course, professional driver,' and the one at the end that says, 'not to be attempted by anyone other than Carroll Shelby.' Plus, at the end of the video, when Carroll opens the car door on the scuff plate, it says Hertz Shelby GT-H; on the grainy copy, nothing is visible. My scrapbook contains the original rental agreement (in the Hertz branded contract folder) Hertz gave me at the rental desk (checkout and return). The rental confirmation email (when I made the reservation) plus an email the Hertz Boston Senior Station Manager sent me that contained a .jpg of me standing at the door of the car (front of the car shown - with the license plate, which correlates with the rental agreement documentation) The original Hertz Shelby GT-H Rental/Return Inspection Form (my pink copy) when I checked out/ in the car. After the video ends (the yellow screen), you see what looks like a poster. I have the 35 X 48-inch vinyl promotional banner with four grommets that would have been hanging up behind the rental agents at the car rental desk that I bought in July 2006. Also, I have the DVD (created in April 2006) that the rental agents would have been required to view to properly promote the GT-H. Pictures of the car serial numbers on the dash and in the engine compartment. I took assorted pictures of the car with me in it. Plus, all of the original magazine articles about the car were from Car and Driver (November 2006), Motor Trend (September 2006), and Shelby Annual (2007). Currently in my garage is a 1967 Lime Gold Mustang GT fastback. My reason for the urgency to rent the 2006 GT-H.

My dad flew in Navy blimps out of Lakehurst. He met my mom at a roller rink either in Tom's River or the Casino Rink... I was born in Tom's River... Grandpa Bennett built a lot of the bungalows in Seaside, was in the volunteer fire department and a commander of the American Legion Post 351 Seaside Heights, NJ.
