Gaanamurthi is the 3rd Melakartha rāgam in the 72 melakartha rāgam system of Carnatic music. It is called Gaanasaamavaraḷi in Muthuswami Dikshitar school of Carnatic music.

Sriranjani is janyam from the 22nd Melakartha karaharapriya. This scale uses the notes shadjam, chathusruti rishabham, sadharana gandharam, shuddha madhyamam, chathusruthi dhaivatham and kaisiki nishadam. It has only the invariant panchamam missing. It is most commonly used raga in the film music. Happy Listening!!!!

Mayamalavagowla is classified as 15th melakartha under the 72 melakartha system. It is the first raga that one learns the begining lessons in his or her journey of music. The raga and it's notes are so magnetic that one gets hold of it as the basic scale. Happy Listening!!!

Hats off to the teacher not only for his knowledge in the field of raagas but also the way he is able to teach in uncomplicated manner. The student's voice is really powerful. I wish to know her name so that I don't miss to hear her fullfledged performance in future.
What a metalilic voice the student has. I was hoping to hear her rendition of atleast one line of any keerthan in this raaga. The master is superb. What a mastery over raaga and play of it on the Veena. Great to watch.
