aww thanks! if you like singing or want to sing, please keep at it :) i believe everyone can learn to sing in their own voice... it may not sound the same as their favourite singers (because we're all given different instruments) but it will have its own unique character and that's really cool too

For now I just need more practice (while trying to be careful not to hurt my voice), I’ve never really tried singing in high register with power so I’m still getting used to it. I found some pretty good video tutorials like the guy who uses “sha sha pa pa” as a trick to get closer to Chester’s sound, and today another one with a good warmup for fry scream using breathing and stretching. I do feel like I’m improving!

Yeah I’m wary about damaging my voice, but only just started testing my limits like this so I think a bit is OK if I don’t make a habit of it. Trying to build in the support and breathing and proper technique and knowing when to back off when it’s too high or I don’t have enough breath (the thing is I don’t usually know until I try). I’ve thought about practising at a slower speed and maybe also a lower key, then building back up…

thanks for the feedback! i tried another set of covers yesterday with a vocal mic in another room with softer surfaces ... will see if that helps (if not then i guess i will try the mic shield next)

Nice :) yes, it was so good to be there. Glad I saw him at a festival instead of a sit-down venue, felt like the right vibe. And not too crowded (quite a few people I talked to had no idea what they’d missed … one of the greatest living guitarists!)
