This may be unpopular to some, but honestly I think it’s true: Truex signing with DEI in Cup was not the right move. By his rookie year in 2006 DEI was a sinking ship and I think this was one of the most fateful decisions he ever made. I don’t blame him for staying loyal to DEI but looking back he should’ve signed elsewhere. Hendrick should’ve dumped Brian Vickers and put MTJ in the 25 for 2006. Then if Busch leaves for Gibbs, Dale Jr. and MTJ are teammates again at Hendrick. Just some spit balling since Truex is retiring this weekend. Always been a fan

I was there that Saturday Night we supposed to sit the start finish line it was the best seats but the second we sat down the bottom fell out we stand under the grandstands for 5 hours then Barney Hall announced on the PA “We’re not racing tonight”we had to give up the seats I was pissed on the way back to Lancaster but went to Charlotte 2 weeks later
