Super.
My favorite country blues musician, hands down. Love his humility, teaching style, attitude towards the material--not to mention his playing which is superb and absolutely fabulous; demonstrates effortless mastery of this style. Wish. Wish. Wish. He still gave lessons. I live near him too. [crying emoji]
Hadn't seen this, VBG. Nice sound from that hard oak. Love the 6 pin bridge, like my Sov.
Stupid question : If you remove the light strings can you convert it to a 6 strings guitar that sounds the same as the H1260 ?
Very nice sound!
Sounds great! and love that deep socket your using as a slide, I'll often play my lap steel with a crescent wrench when I forget my slide 😄
Yeah, open D tuned pretty low
Very nice is it open D dropped even further down say the bottom string B
Would you sell the H912 Guitar?
That sounds just like Sylvester Weaver’s guitar
Yeah, that’s basically Delia
is this improv or from an actual song? I’d love to know. Sounds like it’s influenced from Delia by Mr McTell but can’t tell, thanks.
Great sound, como de la Bella Época
Voice 👍👍👍👍👍
Had one. Loved it. Unfortunately I ended up trading it for a Santa Cruz H model. Wish I kept it. It was a bit hacked up but it played beautifully.
Well done Sir. What tuning is this? Thanks
Open D tuned down. Thanks!
Delia, Delia, how can it be...
Woah! Nice. Thank you for sharing!
Going for that Blind Willie McTell vibe. Although I think Willie played much bigger 12 strings. Great little axe. 3000? oh well, probably worth every penny. The sound alone transports you back to the 1930s.
Very adorable
Here’s a great version of an early blues toon…by a BLUESMAN.
That’s the way it’s done!🎶🎶
1sr one sounds like dhit
Why not try the new Santa Cruz 12 String Balanced Lights?
vintagebluesguitars That Grunewald is very very cute, it's a 12 String Parlor Guitar. The shorter scale length w/ Santa Cruz 12 String Guitar Strings in E Standard Tuning means it plays slick & fast.
Where’s the Tip Jar..
Tip of the day. “Buy that Grunewald, you won’t be sorry!”🧐
There goes Tom playing that Cincinnati Flow Rag….Tom is a great guy (along with Bruce) and are super honest and knowledgeable….and fine players..
Hey, Tom. Great informational video. Long time no see. My Sovereign is a 6 pin bridge, too. Do you find the 6 pin more common in older 12s? I think it makes a lot of sense and find it very easy to use when restringing.
Hey, Wax! ...small cyberworld, ain't! All the Grunewalds I've seen (all three of them) have the 12/6 set up, and I'd say about 25% of the OS Stella-type 12s have it too. The Weymann came with a replaced bridge, and a tailpiece set up, but we could tell by the bridgeplate that it was a 12/6 set up originally. Holzapfel is more often than not, 12/6, too .. so there you have it. Thanks for checking in, and if you're in the neighborhood, give a shout!
@@vintagebluesguitars Some Taylor 12 string Guitars have it
Church bells!
Sure do miss Paul! I used to see him very frequently at the Caffe Lena, in Saratoga Springs, NY. He was practically a fixture there, for a good long time. He was as good a picker as he is a person.
Ari!! You need one of these, my friend! As sweet as the wee Stella is, you need one of these at your side, too!
Really nice ,however in B ,try B E A C# F# A , gorgeous Hauver guitar and playing, from the town of Rome Gorgeous Hauver sound.Old Chris
Guitar is nearly as big as the guy playin it. Cool.....
Man... what a Machine! Love how ya did some string bending.
Any chance to get a tab on this? I’m just starting to learn slide guitar but it’s my favourite song and you’ve absolutely smashed this! It sounds amazing
I can't really do TAB, ..I just listened to the song a few million times and figured things out, made it work for me..Thanks for the kind words! ..appreciated..
Chris Young again try A D G B E G instead of A D G C E A,Old Chris a fiddler of Albuquerque NM
That’s one rare bird!
Sounds great, Tom! I love McTell’s rendition of this.
And that my friends is how it is done.
very cool thanks a lot
I think its hilarious what these cost because Kurt Cobain used it once live. Its 6 string counter part is 200-400$. Anyone that gives 1600$ or even 1k for one of these either has to much money for his own good or a loose screw. They are not that great of guitars. Their are way better harmony/ supro high end guitars for what these bring.
This guy is the real deal..wow..
I have one!!
AWSOME ARI i love what your playing , It sounds familiar , Hope all is well!
F stands for fall ... S stands for spring. Two production runs a year.
Now thats a Lap-Piano
This is one of the best covers ive ever seen/heard, in terms of voice and overall expression of the individual whilst paying respect to the original song. Good job brother
@Cam K Appreciate that! thx..
Interesting thank you. I have the 922...can be seen in several of my videos on my channel. I did a neck reset and structural repairs. Great for fingerpicking style as the necks are wide and you can get your fingers between the strings unlike on most modern 12 strings which are more for strumming. Nice BWMcTell picking!
3:19 These Guitars have a truss rod, that was probably in the time when Harmony was starting to add a Truss Rod.
They had them earlier, just not adjustable, like in the 922
@@vintagebluesguitars They've started to make them adjustable over the years. Now you can tune them to E Standard thanks to Extra Light 12 String Guitar Strings (9s made by Daddario) which are a "Pain Free Experience".
vintagebluesguitars These 12 String Guitars are playable. Extra Light 12 String Guitar Strings (9s) in E Standard actually work cause they're under really low tension plus they're easier to press down.
