This is the first time seeing those cases at a Walmart. At first I was asking myself was all the physical media...then I saw them locked up. It had been a while since I had been in that store and looked at movies since we live 3 hrs from Wichita. Hoping to get some comments from others about their local Walmarts if they are doing this.

I wish they would have used the artwork showing Kong on Twin Towers. That was such an iconic image. But society wants to erase references to the towers nowadays. That's why I prefer the steelbook from Studio Canal. Gorgeous!

I never do a review without watching the movie. I just don't watch the bonus features often. Sometimes there are a lot of bonus and I just don't have the time for that. Plus I need to be in mood. Majority of time I could care less about bonus. I just want to watch a movie and go on to the next. But I still want to mention the bonus features in the review to let viewers know what is all included.

@@juniormike Wife & I did watch some of them the next day or so. Just lot of times I don't get a chance to watch before I do my reviews. I always like to record the reviews with the movie still fresh in my mind. I will make more of an effort going forward to check out more bonus features before doing reviews. I know a lot of work goes into making them and don't want to sell short those efforts. It's classic movies like this that I really appreciate the bonus content. The other night my wife & I watched Smokey & the Bandit and watched some bonus afterwards.

I love all the Kendrick brothers' movies. They do incredible work!

Would recommend it. I love everything Turbine does. They hit a homerun with every 4K I've seen.

A person shouldn't have to adjust settings to enjoy a movie. I question why it is so dark that you can't see anything in those scenes? I understand that HDR always adds darkness. But this is crazy dark in those scenes! Rest of movie looks great. Normally it's the digitally filmed movies that I have had issues with.

@screamingeekmedia i definitely prefer film over digital, settings are there because not everyone's eyes and perception of colors or light is the same. I'm with you on that a lot looks so dark, I tend to week the settings to brighten up these dark movies. I stopped going to the theaters to see movies I know will be dark.

@@Mr.Randy210 Another thing is some people say get an OLED to get the best. Not everyone can afford an OLED. How can we promote this great 4K format to the average consumer when you need to have an expensive setup? I got my tv in 2020 and it's a budget-friendly 65" QLED from TCL.

I am not sure. I looked at the case and disc and it does not have the Region logo on it. Bluray.com says Region A (b, C untested). Doing a search, it is available in Region B. A listing on ebay says All Region. I would assume it is region free since there is no region logo on the case. Is there an Amazon site that ships to your area? You could always return it if it doesn't work. I've never had issues returning items to Amazon. Hope that helps!

It was rumored that it was coming to 4K. But has been a while and haven't heard anything more.

@ the extra scenes on the DVD are critical to the movie as it explains a lot of backstory. I hope it gets added into the normal director cut 4k release

Cool! I got my NOES in Oct. Loved it! Got the limited UK edition

I never got that edition. By the time I was going to get it, they announced the reissue, so I waited. I wold guess that's it's a slight upgrade. I do have both versions of Starship Troopers (with and without DV). DV only added a little. If you're happy with the standard 4K, I would stick with that unless you want to collect the steelbook.

I planned on doing reviews of the Mummy movies but haven't gotten around to it yet. Yeah, the blurays were pretty good. I also got The Scorpion King 4K few months ago. Of course, there are 4 SK movies. I have that set on bluray.

@@NebLleb Yeah, I think it is due to those early Rock movies that don't get much love. I liked the first SK. have not watched the sequels.

Thanks! Just hoping that Galaxy Quest will come back in stock and I can catch it. In the past, Paramount titles seem to come back in stock. So crossing my fingers! And Arrow with their reputation I can't understand why replacing 3 cases is a big deal to them. Have to wait and see what their next reply is. Again, happy with the outcome with Gruv! They were great!

I'm just sticking with my Harmy blurays, as I think they are great. Plus that doesn't make me want to replace the entire franchise to 4K then. LOL

Yeah, loved the steelbooks of both DK and Labyrinth. Surprisingly, the discs had different artwork on them than the ones in this set. All the contents were the same, just different artwork. I figured they would cut corners and use same art..

Totally get that. I did just because wife is big fan of movie and I'm fan of The Dark Crystal. So we got these sets AND the Walmart exclusive steelbooks, which i got yesterday and...surprisingly they had different disc art than the big sets. I figured they would go the cheap route and use the same discs with different packaging.

I can totally understand that my friend, the mrs & i both love the dark crystal and labyrinth and those sets you bought are gorgeous and I would've bought those in a heartbeat if I didn't already have the Sony releases.

Which is ok with me, since I don't have many of their blurays. LOL

I didn't, surprisingly since it is a BD-100 disc. What player do you have? I have heard that low-end models have issues with those triple-layer BD-100 discs. I have the Sony x700 and when it glitches, it is always those discs. But not all the time.

@@alexscotwilson Ok, I hadn't heard if the game console has issues. Just low-end models. You'd think the PS5 would have better chip set than the cheap players.

@@screamingeekmedia It probably has a cheap player in it. I exchanged my disc and the new one had the same issue in almost the same spot.

Pretty much. I still wonder if Shout did the DV or Sony. Sony has re-issued most of their 4Ks with DV. So it's possible they did it but didn't get a chance to release it and gave it to Shout. Even with DV, there wasn't much of a difference. But being a fan of the movie, it was worth picking this up. I also have the Steelbook coming from Walmart.

That is a signed & numbered lithograph of "The Mighty King" from fantasy artist Ken Kelly. I've had it for years. I just searched ebay and saw one listed for $300 with a frame. It originally cost $150 when it was released and I had a custom frame made for it.

It looks great. Ken Kelly - Big fan of his work. Especially back in the Warren days with Creepy, Eerie and Vampirella. Must try and see if I can get a print of this. Thanks.

To be honest, I haven't watched the bluray through for while now. Just sampled it for the comparison. But those spots still sounded amazing. I didn't sample the scenes with shotgun. I just know that the uncompressed LPCm tracks always blows away that standard Dolby tracks.

I never have issues with other opinions. It's all subjective and we all like different things for different reasons. That's what I like about this community...hearing what others think. My opinions differ a lot from others. Just look at my videos of "Popular Movies I Hate" and "Bad Movies I enjoy". It's all fun!

Yeah, it puzzled me why they didn't include a stand for the shard when the Labyrinth set did.

Nothing wrong with that..if you can afford it. Basically warning others how quickly you can go down that rabbit-hole trying to get everything. As long as you stay passionate about it, there is nothing wrong with what you collect. Thanks for the comment! 🙂

I never watched Wings on regular basis. I did watch a couple here and there but did like it.

How is your set packaged? I see many nowadays have multiple seasons in one case. I hate that! I prefer each season to have its own case. So those sets, I buy separate cases for the seasons and download covers and print.

@@JonTalksEverythingPodcast Thanks! I did look up on ebay and saw some pics of the set and see it came from Mill Creek, which is known for their crappy packaging. LOL. I saw that Paramount did produce individual case for the seasons but the complete sets are out-of-print.
