REMEMBER THAT AS A CHILD. I GREW UP IN PICO RIVERA

I just discovered that my Uncle Robert Beckmann USMC PFC, is buried in the military cemetery on the island of Guam. He was killed in July of 1944. He was 23. He lies so far from home ( Michigan), my grandparents put a marker for him in the family's cemetery, I wish I could go to his grave on Guam and tell him thank you and his great nephew is named Robert after him.

We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them. Thank you for your service, and may all those memories be a blessing.

Every time I see and hear commentaries about our veterans and their deeds on the battle fields I cry.... I cry when I see the beautiful lush lawns and the almost never ending rows of head stones that remind us of the selfless sacrifice that our young men and women paid....I have seen the DISRESPECT of a younger generation in celebrations around our nation such as not being able to be serious and respectful to our flag and when our anthem is being sung...I cry for the many armed forces members who went a a moments notice to shed their blood in foreing lands so that the world can live in relative peace and we fortunate people can live in freedom...I see the colors of our flag and their meaning and my tears become tears of joy and gratitude for all our members of our armed forces and their families...we must NOT ALLOW THESE YOUNGER GENERATION TO COME TO BE CYNICAL ABOUT OUR HISTORY AND THE BLOOD AND PAIN THAT HAS BEEN SPILLED ANG GONE THRU SO THAT WE ENJOY THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD IN HARMONY AND WITH THE BELIEF THAT OUR GOD IN HEAVEN HAS EMBRACED AND KEEP THOSE WHO PAID WITH THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE THRU OUT HISTORY...THANK GOD FOR HAVING BLESSED AMERICA WITH THE WORLDS MOST COURAGEOUS FIGHTING ARMED FORCES...

Local boy just brought home. Unknown soldier buried in Italy for 80 years. Family found thru DNA testing. He was laid to rest with full military honors here in Kentucky today at Memorial Gardens, Elizabethtown, KY. He was killed 1 Aug 1943 by German machine gun fire as a lead scout, which allowed most of his unit to retreat to safety. His family was presented with a Bronze Star. He as 19 years old and had volunteered to serve in the Army infantry. Private J. C. Brooks, nickname "Buster". We salute you brother in arms for your courage and sacrifice. He would have been 100 years old this month. His half sister lived to be 103. His niece is my neighbor.

We spent a year at Cambridge University and I would visit the American cemetery often. We lived in Kansas at the time.

God, what a man! I thank God that there are men like this defending our nation. I recently visited his grave at Arlington National Cemetery and will do so each time I am in DC. As long as I am alive I will not let this man's memory fade. And when God blesses me with children, I shall pass his legacy to them as I inculcate the values Kevin stood for: duty, selflessness, and honor!

RIP. We miss you Mike. I enjoyed your video's over the years.

My Father is in Henry Chappel cemetery in Belgium. He died December 18, 1944 fighting for our country. I am proud of what he gave for us.

I see one behind the tree it looks like it is croched down and comes out from behind the tree and looks at him and stans up and gos back behind the tree

A very special thanks to the caretakers of those beautiful manicured American cemeteries around the globe a job well done

You can tell that the fighting on french soil was one of the hardest just by the number of cemeteries
