Lasfit LED VS Halogen Headlight LUX Test
Quick question, No top-end yet?? I have a 2016 with 65hrs. and 1000miles scared about the top-end?? Should I be?? Allen
@@Rieju-Sherco The bike now is sitting at 250 hours on the original top end. I plan on doing one this winter though. There are no signs of any issues with the engine though.
Such a helpful video! Thanks for sharing your insight. Do you use any additives in your diesel to prevent the gelling and gumming up?
Would you happen to know your inseam. Im 5'7 with a 28 inseam and had a very difficult time reaching with both feet. Thanks
@1994vmax I'm pretty sure mine is also 28. The suspension does settle once it breaks in. Plus having rider sag set is very helpful. I can only reach tiptoes with both feet, not flat footed.
How did you mount the ammo cans?
If you are not using the tip outs then you overpaid for what is essentially a cargo trailer with a kitchen. The tip outs in my opinion are the only reason to buy one of these.
@NMLife22 The plan is to use then eventually and build out hard sides. We do use the tip outs in the Summer as porches and it's nice. The full aluminum cage, the fact the kitchen was already built, an AC unit, a fan.. were also big reasons for choosing the trailer we did. We have a cargo trailer as well, and I can tell you the cargo trailer would not have endured full time living for this long. We didn't buy the trailer expecting to not use the tip outs, but we quickly found out how important security/temp regulation is and decided against them. Still love it, still live in it.
@@TheAndersenAdventures with the tip outs open is it not able to maintain temp? Heating and cooling?
@NMLife22 Not in extreme weather for long. A weekend of camping is tolerable, but living full time isn't. In 100F+ degree weather, the AC running on high it only cools to about 80 with tipouts open, Which is okay. In weather where it's below freezing for any length of time, we would have frost on the tent beds on the inside. The heat strip is a joke, so we used a ceramic plug in heater when plugged in. To be honest, we've never used the wood stove with the tent beds so I can't speak for that. The biggest battle has been moisture and privacy. Again, we are full time in it. For a weekend of camping I think it's great.
Thank you so much guys! I'm in Indiana rest area now, my new Vevor heater stopped working after 10 nights! I watched your video and I was able to fix it! 30 minutes trying to make the pump work, it was hard to make it work....and now is working! Can you advise, where do you buy this kind of pump? Need 1 for replacement
@@BneMoisha Glad it worked! We've bought several replacement on Amazon. Search "chinese diesel heater fuel pump" and you should find what you're after.
Our pump is not retract after pushing with 1.5 mm Allen key. Can you please advise us
@vipinkarnik8283 This has happened to me a couple times when they get really gummed up, spray more lubricant in both ends and cap off the ends for a couppe hours, come back and try to pish the piston again. Hope that helps!
Nice job. Thanks.
How do haul both trailers?
@@wendytravis6427 We have two vehicles that we tow with.
How did the Subaru pull that trailer?!
Honestly, it pulled it pretty well other than the severe overheating issues when the ambient temps were 105+.
This was great. Feels like you guys could be great at offering all kinds of hacks and info on these trailers. Almost no info out there but these have a niche. Look forward to those 3D printed items.
How is the insulation against heat? Can it handle 100° heat? Also does the a/c cool it off quickly. Looking heavily into an intech.
The trailer can handle 100 degree heat with the tipouts closed but the AC will only drop the inside temps down to 75-80 if it's over 100 outside. With the tipouts open, the ac doesn't keep up very well at all. You can cool it by 15 degrees but that's about it. If you plan on using tipouts then be sure to pick up some insulating covers like the popup gizmos or make something similar yourself.
Well done!!!! This works perfectly thank you very much!
Hi can you tow a 300 lb boat with this trailer?
@hellapellanyc6465 I wouldn't unless you reinforce the frame where the hitch is installed. Depending on the year you buy, the hitch is only rated for 175lbs or 200lb capacity. We used a cargo rack on the back before but not exceeding 100lb total.
@@TheAndersenAdventures Wouldnt 200 lb hitch weight equal 2000lb tow weight?
@@hellapellanyc6465 No, the weight rating from Intech on this is not based on “tongue weight” like a regular receiver hitch on a vehicle. This is very much a “do not exceed 200lbs at all” receiver. It is intended for a small bicycle rack or cargo rack and not really intended for towing.
@@TheAndersenAdventures Thanks!!
Sick
Thanks for the great review. I am considering buying a 2024 Discover, I'll have to give it a much closer look. THe wooden floor and re-sealing the roof are a bit concerning for me.
Ridiculous that you aren't using those killer pop out bunks. I have owned many tent trailers and a hybrid with the same bunk situation and have never had an issue or felt unsafe sleeping in them.
@championhairpuller Maybe you missed it, but we LIVE in this trailer full time including winters and summers. Between temperature/moisture control and also sometimes camping in bear country, we opted to not utilize the tents. I'm glad you've had no issues with yours! We would love to use ours but it just is too difficult to keep the inside of the trailer warm/cool and dry and peace of mind that nothing (or no one) can get in (easily) while we are gone is more important than the extra room. We plan on building some hard sides one of these days soon so we can use the trailer to the fullest extent again. :)
What does this seal fix? Mine is leaking from the fresh water tank. I can't figure out how to take the flush lever off. It's leaked since purchase.
@barbshubert9667 This seals the bowl to the black tank - so any time I flushed, I'd get a bit of liquid from the bowl that would seep between the two tanks. I haven't had to replace my flusher yet!
Awesome progress Zoey!!
Thank you!
Great work 👍
Thank you!
I'd like to add a tip out bed to my enclosed trailer. Are you aware if a kit exists and if any additional framing is needed?
@@thenicgatesshow Unfortunately we haven't found a kit for this but you can piece it together. You would have to create an inner and outer frame for the tipout.
What brand is the plastics?
The white plastics were actually Beta OEM. We have since switched to Polisport and have had great luck with durability.
It gets tiring after a while moving this here and that there to do this and then that 🥺 Hardsides for the tipouts is the best move IMHO. I had a Hybrid camper with those and did not like the lack of security with the two small girls at the time. Same with the PUP camper. I was going to convert my enclose cargo but the wife not liking the idea so maybe something like this🤔 Best wishes
I like the explore.. hope to have one one day. Great insight to the product line! 👍👍
What difference does the pipe make
@Ofer12344 Adds quite a bit more power, but we also had to re jet the carb to get it to run right since the stock pipe is tiny in comparison. I think FMF has power curve charts on their website
You'd do a lot better if you let out some of the air in your tires
Rookie mistake! We also forgot to bring a way to air them back up. They were both at the same tire pressures regardless. This was a while ago, the Jeep is now gone and the FJ just was an all around better vehicle for what we needed.
I own the big bore IT's 1980 IT 425 1982 IT 465 1984 IT 490
Damn good rider!! Keep that IT alive!! Yes drum brakes are VERY different than modern disks!!
@Rieju-Sherco Thank you! The brakes are also just plain bad on top of being drum brakes. Shortly after this video we lost the front brake completely 😂 Bike is currently down with a few issues, but as soon as we gets parts in it'll be back up and ripping!

If it makes you feel any better, ours leaked this morning and I have taken very good care of it. I have used only Thetford cleaning supplies for it and have rinsed it very well once a week and taken tiptop care of it. And it still happened. Thanks for the video.
That does make me feel better! I'm okay with spending the $15 every year or two for a new seal. Pretty small price to pay overall to have a toilet inside and not have to use a dump station. Thanks for watching!
Great video! We have a 23 Discover I'm about ready to move in with my family. So I love the info. Been using ours regularly and every trip seems to lead to a modification. Unfortunately we were not aware of the forge coming out either. We had the rear door water leak issue and very interested in your solution you found. Is it possible to buy a set? We are heading to the Northwest soon. I'd love to see a video of stops to make.
That's awesome that you're moving into your Discover! It's definitely an adjustment but we love it. Modifications are endless lol. Does your 23 have the little lip over the rear door? I'm surprised you're still having issues if so! That's good to know. We can finalize our replacement pads and post it to our website here soon. It just hasn't been a priority 😆 I'll see about making a video on places to stop - truthfully we haven't been doing much in the way of traveling these days but I might be able to throw something together. Happy travels!!
Keep trying.
Great video dude thank you
Zoey, this is soooo cool! You two have done an amazing job.
Thank you! ❤
nice video. Would love to see an in depth explanation of your solar/electrical setup!
Noted! We've been planning on it but haven't quite "finished" the electrical setup.
@@TheAndersenAdventures Awesome! I'm working on a smaller 200-300 watt system for my Flyer Pursue but have gone down the solar rabbit hole and finding that learning how other people set up their inTech's is fascinating.
Good job you two. But wheres the liquor cabinet. Dads gotta have his gin and tonic when he comes out in august

Our pleasure!
The trials bikes are so fun. Missed you guys at the 4th Friday. We went to that same lookout 😎🤙🏻
I wish I could have made it! Just a bit out of reach for me this time. :(
Looks like intech or competition would build another model thats just 18" longer...and another 8" wide. Thatd allow for a lot.
Thank you so much gal. Your information regarding the Flyer(Discover),while not what i wanted to hear, was Truly what i *needed* to hear. Well Wishes to you, your squeeze,& the 4-legged hound of loving abound! 🙏🦉 🏍️🏞️
I'm really curious why you bought this trailer and then not use either one of the tent tip outs? I just ordered a Flyer Forge with the 2 tent tip out and would like to ask you why you went away from using those.
We intended to use the tip outs at first - but we found in full time use it is incredibly hard to control the moisture and temperature. They’re great for the regular camper, don’t get me wrong! We have plans to build hard sided tip outs so we can utilize that extra space.
@TheAndersenAdventures I've been asking a few different people about these issues and got a few good ideas. One was to have a fan blowing around to put the dry air into the tent tip outs. Another idea I heard was having a custom tarp company to make insolated covers over the tent tip outs. Another idea was having a different heating system than the standard propane like an electric heat option but I think you guys did an even better option with your diesel heater!
@@mjl9702 The diesel heater is great but still doesn't do the best job, we actually ended up installing a Cubic Mini Grizzly woodstove which has helped dry things out better than anything else we've tried. We made tipout insulation covers from reflectix when we used the tipouts but it still didn't solve all of the issues. We've lived in our Discover full time for 2 1/2 years now and have had very few quality issues. The issues we have had are purely from our lifestyle and abuse that the trailer wasn't intended for.
Time to update to a Flyer Forge🤷🏻♂️
We're still happy with the Discover. The Forge is neat BUT it's not much of an "upgrade" considering it wouldn't provide much more space and we'd have to spend a lot of time setting it up to be as good as what we have now for full time living, plus the disadvantage of more weght and less ability to tow through severe terrain. We did just purchase a cargo trailer for all four of our dirt bikes, tools and gear. It's nice having a "garage" so we don't have to track mud inside the Discover. There's still so much we can improve on with our current setup like hard sided tipouts and an additional hard sided ramp door room, all of which will double the interior space of our current trailer while retaining the same physical size while in transit.
I would definitely purchase the In-Tech Explore if the tip-outs were hard sided. Great video, thanks!
Where did u get the front box? Did you say "Virex Strut Box"?
It's a Buyers Products box. Search Google: Buyers Products 1725147

The box is a Buyers Products 1725147. If you search that on Google you'll find several dealers that have them.
@@TheAndersenAdventures THANK YOU!!!
There is another more important question. I have the latest Ford bronco 4x4 four-door off-road vehicle. The towing capacity is 3500 pounds and the tongue is 350 pounds. Judging from the parameters found, it can be towed under dry weight, but The tongue parameter of the Trailer is 520 pounds. I was worried about this, so I found some articles on the Internet, saying that if the tongue is overloaded, it will not damage the front car, but may cause some instability. The internal structure is not suitable for installing Weight Distribution Hitch (it is said that it can keep the front car and the rear car relatively level to improve stability), so I would like to hear more about your professional opinions on this, thank you!
Hello! If your towing capacity on your Bronco is 3500 lbs I would not recommend towing the Discover with it. You'll quickly surpass that. Ideally you don't want to exceed 75% of the tow capacity of your vehicle. The tongue weight alone on the Discover is way more than your vehicle is safely rated for. I'd upgrade tow vehicles. Happy camping! :)
