@ Glad you are ok. We we so lucky this time no damage so it must have been all that praying to the universe to protect all my babies ( Birds) The only damage was the rats chewed a great big hole in the whetleys shed. They got into the greenhouse and damaged 80% of my cauliflower seedlings so it’s war now !!!! Take care Catch up soon Mandy

@GanggangPeanut that's much the same as I'm growing. I've also got some Asian greens growing including a strange looking veg called wa wa cai stem which will be interesting.

@@shaaronmacdonald4221 hello, rust is airborne not in the soil but you do really want to rotate your beds and avoid growing alliums after other alliums. It's likely that the rust as the other plants are still in situ could cause a problem. Do you have another bed to grow them in? If none are available yet you could start both onions and garlic in pots to be planted out once you have the space.

@@TheMiniFarm444 that would be nice , it's the earliest frost we've had since moving to Shropshire. Have you had any yet?

@@seedlingsuccessuk no not yet but the tunnel went down to minimum 2.4C but my homemade candles and copper sand heater seem to keep it at minimum 5C so my tropical plants are ok. 👍

Oh no. We have mice get into ours so we have an area on the crop bars for seedlings to keep them away.

@@seedlingsuccessuk That is so kind of you to ask! I would love to see a leek or squash grow along when season appropriate! I found your video as I have some Paris Early White Overwintering Onion Seeds from Real Seeds and was trying to find out whether it was too late to try growing them. Do you have any plans for what you would like to grow next year? I have a small veg patch and room for some grow bags so I find it so hard to only choose one or two things! 😅

I've only eaten garlic fresh when it's immature so I don't really know to be honest. I'll definitely need to give this a go .

@@seedlingsuccessuk Thanks for the reply. We just harvested, and have been eating the smaller or damaged bulbs. Frankly, I can't tell any difference in taste between these and the garlic that has been dried and cured, but I'm not the culinary expert. Another question. My wife wants to only plant cloves from bulbs with 6 cloves, since that's the ideal count for the Korean Red that we grow. Does it really matter? We have some large bulbs with fat cloves @ 7 or 8 per bulb. I would like to use them for planting. BTW, 'large' for this variety is a bulb 2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter.

@groussac I can't say I've ever grown that variety. Maybe an experiment would be a good idea? Usually the larger bulbs and then the largest cloves are selected for replanting.
