    Does SD occur if the behavior is intermittently rewarded and S Delta is never rewarded, or only if SD is consistently rewarded and S Delta is never rewarded? Or maybe a better question: Will SD be maintained if the behavior is intermittently rewarded after a consistent reward schedule has taken place for an appropriate amount of time?

      @paladinsane I'm a coach. Making an informed leap of faith, I guess, on the nature of perception. I approach learning through an ecological dynamics perspective. So far so good. But it's very much ar odds with traditional coaching approaches.

    What would happen if the food was bad every time they go out to eat and the person was lonely? Would sign tracking still occur? Would the person want to kiss the other person? Would they still find them lovely when everything around them including the food wasn’t lovely?

    • @paladinsane
      @paladinsane 3 года назад

      Sign-tracking occurs when the unconditioned stimulus (food) changes the neutral stimulus (person) into a conditioned stimulus. The conditioned stimulus then causes the unconditioned response. So... even if the food was bad, the neutral stimulus (person) would still turn into a conditioned stimulus. However, what would be the conditioned response to bad food? It would be avoidance, so sign-tracking would cause avoidance in the situation of bad food. So the person would want to avoid the other person in this case, and they wouldn't want to kiss them. As far as "everything around them including the food wasn’t lovely", this would lead to more classical conditioning, neutral stimulus (person) into a conditioned stimulus where the conditioned response would be avoidance. So, conditioning is always occurring, but whether the person is more attractive or less attractive depends on whether the associated stimuli are attractive or less attractive, respectively.
