Literati is my favorite style but your California Bunjin has made me re-think my trees. I live at the southern end of South Carolina, very hot very humid. My trees are styled sparsely but I see some with more foliage in the future. This was an excellent video and you have a great channel, thank you for sharing.

What is the best time to prune podocarpus

I like this bold method as opposed to traditional cutting one twig at a time, which is considered by some people to be the only correct way. Many years ago Walter Paul wrote about it, a hedge pruning method

Please tell us about the soil mixture. How often do you water and feed. Is this tree full sun or under a cover? I failed with my 1st olive. Some instructions would be helpful. Happy Fourth

As I get older, I'm faced with my ultimate fate as we all do. Happiness is often a challenge to balance what we want with what we need to do. Bonsai is difficult for me because it's such an endeavor to time. I hope my bonsai live in the hands of my people who will curate them in my name. To hear your voice and watch your videos and see how much vigor you have, I hope I can find your happiness and positivity for myself in my older years.

I don't know where to start... Toronto here. I find your style matches my thoughts and personality. I'm starting a cherry blossom tree that was cut short and has beauty.. I've cut it shorter in hopes of thickening the trunk. .. I can't bend its upright trunk but I have wire to shape the branches and I'm growing it in the open ground. .. it's going to be a challenge. Love you sharing your knowledge. I want to get a black pine. I have a small mugo.. also upright trunk.. I'll likely end up with boring bonsai trunks but I mostly like and want a really fat trunk at the base.
