Inspired by the recent trip to Alaska on a cruse. Hiro noticed small islands with plants growing on them. Why not make our own Island Planter out of Concrete?

Zen in the West is a Myth. It has been hijacked from the original. Nichiren dictionary reaffirms "The Zen teaching was summarized in these phrases attributed to Bodhidharma: “A separate transmission outside the sutras,” “independent of words or writing,” “directly pointing to the human mind,”
Hi Hiro, what mixture/ kind of soil did you use? Do you know if it’s a Chinese or Japanese wisteria? I’ve got one I need to dig up and do the same to, thanks!
Thank you for sharing.
Agree! ❤🙏👍
Delightful and inspiring! Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Lol thanks 🤣🤣👍
Wonder if you could use a straw for the water channel. It’s plastic so should come right out.
I watched previous chapter on same subject and tried a few. More I make, better it gets. Thanks a lot ❤❤❤
It's most likely due to lack of watering
Speaking as a stonemason of forty years experience your mortar mix is way too strong
Why does the title say "Ishizukuuru" but the video writes it "ishizukuri"? I am also not finding any information about "ishizukuuru". And the video has a long segment repeat twice. And how is that a lantern?
yes, indeed.
You learned from "trowel and error" 😂😆
Good job👍🏽👍🏽
Use the dead tress for Tanuki

I would purchase one of your ishizukuri. Tell me how to go about it.
They look really good 😊
Goodluck to you!!
Good luck to you, Hiro. It sounds like you had a steep learning curve.
Hi, take care. Thank you for making your videos
Hi Hiro, next time I come down to see you I’ll bring my drone and we can get shots of your nursery for you to add to your videos (if you’d like) I’m on a mission to find Yuba Blue for you!👍🏻 it was good to see you!
Starlink is is good internet if you're out in the sticks, its satellite based service
Thank you!
Nice video Hiro, I have a couple hundred trees in this stage so it's nice to have ideas on where to go, many are looking like bushes.
Nice boxwood. Good info on trimming and shaping. Rescued one, with a half dozen or so remaining leaves, from compost pile at Peapatch. It’s dried/sad roots fitted into 5 gallon bucket. After 7 years healthy and steadily growing. Estimate it is 20+ years old. It’ll never be a broom style like your tree here. But you’ve given me ideas on how to continue with it.
Awesome Boxwood Hiro!! 🏆 & as slow as they grow, this one has some Good Age on it👏🏾 ⛩️
Happy to see you after long time, ❤❤❤
In hi def too! Excellent, love the old videos as well.
Great video Hiro, pleased to see you back🙂
Heck yeah!
What a great blessing 🙏🏼😍
Looking forward to the day of your return
Do you put rosemary In full sun
Literati is my favorite style but your California Bunjin has made me re-think my trees. I live at the southern end of South Carolina, very hot very humid. My trees are styled sparsely but I see some with more foliage in the future. This was an excellent video and you have a great channel, thank you for sharing.
Bonsai means potted and nawacki is landscaped
It’s pronounced ni whack ee
Too many branches are like too much money..........a good problem to have!
What did you use as a planting medium?
My right ear feels deaf. Do I need to call the Nurse? I hope I will live :/
How do you know when a tree like this is dead versus may be salvageable?
The leaves of my tree are small and the tree is not really going. What can be done to help this tree? thanks
As a novice, I appreciate this level of introductory instruction...Thanks for sharing...
