Bachmann N Scale Henrietta - Review & Run w/ Toby
Hey everyone, I decided that it would be better to review Henrietta around a similar time as Toby, rather than wait for Hannah to be released, so here she is!

Rapido J70 (Toby) on the Christmas Goods
For an n scale that does not have a fly wheel, mine runs beautifully. Have not checked my motor to see if mine has a flywheel, but I suspect it might because of how crisp smooth my n scale Emily is running.
@@anthonysutube I agree! Mine runs extremely good as well. I have a couple of british locomotives (a J94 and Stepney) that have 6 wheel pick-ups, but they don't run nearly as well as Emily does.
Nice review. Im really glad they gave Henrietta her face and she looks great with toby.
@@tobythetramfan9971 Thank you! I also like Henrietta’s face, I think it was one of the best things the CGI series did.
@kemptownbranch6624 definitely, she was always a character before, but giving her a face and her own voice gave her the ability to become more involved in stories. I love her relationship with Toby it's so sweet and slightly different to Thomas' relationship with Annie and Clarabel
@ yeah, I agree!
Perfect review !
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan thanks!
@@kemptownbranch6624 don’t mention it ! Becasue it’s true Good reviews ! Tho … I bought some N scale express coaches … not thomas and friends but just some regular N scale coaches that remind me of the express ones from the show a little bit ! So WHENEVER i get gordon he will have something to pull … Tho ehh maybe Percy can … if he can pull them without Wheelslip that is 🤣
Perfect toby review James next I feel ? Or Percy ? There nice models !
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan thanks! I'm trying to decide whether I want to do Gordon or James next for Thomas locomotives. My next review will probably be one of my real locomotives, though.
@@kemptownbranch6624 james ! I nominate the red engine ! As I have plans on getting him myself maybe in the summer ! So … I wouldn’t mind a video on the shiny engine with a jet black stack next !
@@kemptownbranch6624 tho I may have spent £100 worth of money on eBay for N scale rollingstock all second hand My collection went from 14 wagons and 2 brake vans To 51 wagons and 4 brake vans . And Percy can no longer pull all of the trucks at once ! And I don’t think my future James will either And my poor tomix Thomas … can just barley get them moving with a push from Percy at the rear !
@@kemptownbranch6624and to clarify that’s not a steak pipe That’s a handrail … like how Gordon and James have them along the boiler It like how on James if a man stands on the side of him the handrail is there to hold onto It’s the same with Toby and since he has no visible boiler he has it on the roof to grab onto Just letting you know ! The answer for everyone is handrail !
Wow! That’s a lot of wagons!
Bachmann n scale Thomas but if it were released in the 80s
I am curious on why they didn’t swap the faces for some CGI ones ? Or making them in other colours … I want to see some rainbow coloured trucks if maybe a cyan pair or some orange pair or maybe a red pair It would be good .
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan My guess would be that they didn’t change the faces so that the models would be consistent with the ones they did in HO and Large Scale. I actually don’t mind that they are based on the Promotional Art, because I grew up seeing that artwork everywhere. I’d also like to see Bachmann release the wagons in other colors; I used to have the dark green and red ones they did in HO Scale, and I wouldn’t mind if they made them for N Scale as well.
Wait a sec .. I just realised you don’t have the model anymore Nawww why sell it it was so good !
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan Thanks! I sold it because, at the time, I felt like I could do better if I tried again. I do kind of regret selling him now, though.
@@kemptownbranch6624 wouldn’t hurt to get another and have a cgi cross face on the front !
For lining you could always use posca paint pen for the bands on the boiler . And you could have made pilot thomas with the spare bodyshell without the arch lining ! It would work I feel with a new face and second chassis !
Tamiya masking tape is your friend. It would’ve made your lining problems much easier. Tamiya even make it in really thin 2mm strips, so you could’ve masked the model and put all the lining on at once.
@@locomotionlotion779 I know, I had some at the time that I was trying to use. The problem with the window lining was that the area was so small that the masking tape kept pulling the paint off. The window lining on the N Scale Thomas is less than 0.25mm thick as well.
Welp … Emily is on my list . But now yet .
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan nice!
Woah … all of that work for a season 1 N scale thomas ! I only have a tomix Thomas and that has just been what I have for some time now . But me being more into the way thomas looked in hiro of the rails . The regular Thomas to me looks fine from bachmann from images I have seen . But nice model anyways . I didn’t know so much work went into it really . I just thought from looking it was a simple face swap . I didn’t even realise a whole new custom footplate was added or anything like that . Good work ! But … are you going to make a Percy in the same style ?
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan thanks! My plan is to change all of the engines to have Model Series Style faces eventually, at least for the engines that were in the Model Series.
@@kemptownbranch6624I mean would Percy get a video like this ?
@ oh, yeah! I’m planning to do videos for any modifications I make to the Bachmann N Scale models in the future.
@@kemptownbranch6624 well I feel a custom LBSC thomas is in order . Just a repaint And I mean bachmann could make it using there n scale thomas for the 80th anaversary … but no there too bloody lazy . Not to mention they did it in HO Anyways I feel that’s a cool idea That or use bachmanns n scale James for a black james custom . Trainboy made a custom n scale pink James so someone needs to make a black one … we’re making all James varients using the bachmann N scale one ! I mean bachmann have the things to do it … just make a re paint every so often of rollingstock and engines . Costs very little and they get money from it I mean G scale is a bit dry how about some rainbow troublesome trucks ? Red orange yellow green and so on . Maybe a black james or bee James or green Thomas ? All for G scale . Same applies to N scale . Maybe re colour some troublesome trucks in hit era colours of cyan and red and yellow and purple or maybe remove the face moulds and paint them to be black like coal trucks Or for engines a green Thomas or black and bee James models from earlier . Maybe a blue side plate toby for the 80th perhaps Maybe a silver James and an exclusive smug face There are so many new items to make from re painting existing models . I mean they can leave HO alone for a little bit since they got rebbeca to play with for now and focus on G and N scales … there both lacking in models and variants . I mean why not all those items I previously mentioned and they all are just re paints but there was probably 60 items there . Or they could go further and re paint the emily coaches into all sorts of colourful livery’s and re sell them millions of times as branchline coaches . Or many trucks in thousands of livery’s and colours too . I mean it’s endless for rollingstock ideas . Just re paint everything colourful . It’s what the hit era did ! And I want the trucks from too hot for Thomas them cyan ones ! And the engine varients too for the 80th of books accurate blue side plate toby like shown in the books for the anaversary or the green Thomas and black james too for the anaversary for us in N scale … hell make those 3 in G scale too Not to mention a silver James from engine of many colours … and a realy realy glossy coat on it to be really reflective like the track-master merlin was . Or my favourite being bee James . PERFECTION . and only a re paint too The list is endless of James re colours and trucks and coaches too . Thomas can have his blue and green models and Toby his blue side plate and regular but James … they can make all his colours in the show EVER . same with the trucks I mean we just had Gordon and Emily ,.. why not take the time whilst we wait for Henry and diesel … then why don’t they re colour a crap tone of trucks and just … send them out … done Same with tankers and vans . Maybe some jam tankers or chocolate vans and the like … things like that . Or rainbow colours of red yellow orange and so on . Just make everything really colourful and re peat … Easy money !
what kind of track do u use bachmann or kato
@@brentbarnett5727 I use the Kato Unitrack. I used to use the Bachmann track, but eventually switched over to Kato after reading people’s reviews of it, and I’ve really liked it as well so far!
How exactly did you make the yard ? Like what pieces I am curious on how you did it and got power to the turnout past the passing loop . Can we get a small video on how you did that ? If you don’t mind that is .
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan Hi, I use Kato Unitrack, and for the yard, I used two #4 turnouts and one Wye turnout. The Kato turnouts have little screws on the bottom that you can change to let power flow to the tracks regardless of which way the track is switched to go. It does make it so I can’t have an engine stopped while another one runs, but I’m considering switching to DCC eventually to let me do that. I’m planning on making a video about my track layout soon, but there are a couple of other videos that I’m working on right now that might come out first.
@@kemptownbranch6624 ahh right Cuz I have kato track for my own mini layout . Mine is the M1 set with V7 point on the front of the set near the controller with two sidings coming off the inside track leading to buffers on each . A simple design that gives me two ways in and two ways out of track whilst keeping it fairly simple .
However I haven’t tested it yet … and now I have heard videos saying things … i don’t know if it will work … but only one way to find out !
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan that's alright. In my experience, the Kato track is usually pretty good! I wouldn't worry too much about it before testing it.
@@kemptownbranch6624 I mean the V7 itself … Not the stability of it or anything … but if you research it up … I don’t think I can get power to all 4 sides Not to mention the thing cost £60 to purchase … so if it is a waist of money I am screwed .
First off . Great review here Second . Nice collection here . Good bachmann models of the Thomas characters and not to mention all that rollingstock . Reminds me of my own collection really . However I have a tomix Thomas and a bachmann percy . With 3 diesels 1 from rapido and 2 from grahamfarish . A J94 from EFE rail … that’s broken And finally all my rollingstock . Some cosches and a full goods train so far with 2 breakvans one standard toad GW breakvan and another modified to be a sodor breakvan of NW . With a minis gator face glued on. One end and modified some more . The plan being to purchase peco kits to make more or resin print some engine models to go ontop kato chassis . Like a Mavis or Philip That’s it . Have a great day !
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan thanks! It sounds like you have an awesome collection, too! I have all of the engines in the Bachmann Thomas Range, then a Dapol Stepney and an EFE J94 as well. I might make a collection video around the New Year.
@@kemptownbranch6624 oh seeet What livery’s your J94 mine is LNER black … it came to me broken and when trying to fix it as my first N scale fix … broke it further . It works yes but it limps along and is slightly broken … My Thomas can be slow but … ehh least he works with Annie and clarabel being flawless My class 66 and 60 work just fine … even with there detail packs being fitted to the fronts of them both And the class 28 … doing just fine with nothing wrong and so far is one of my fastest and strongest Percy is unknown cuz he hasn’t arived until Christmas Day . Tho … a couple of tomix mail cars are in order for me I recon sooner or later … considering Bachman hasn’t made any yet… and I know tomix made some in there line along with a henry … so there on my list of to grab … if for a good price and not to sell my dog or limb … that and my god I am hyper for the time I get gordon … maybe in 2 years from now since percy is next in line and I recon James after him in the summer . In short … my collection is small in N scale … and somehow I have a habit of getting busted models trying to fix them and bloody breaking SOMETHING inside them to make them run like shit . Happened in OO with my B12 … and in N scale with the J94 . UGH ITS PAIN ! . oh well . Thomas and Percy may be fiction but are good enough for shunters and to scare the realism idiots who can’t have fun in there lives !
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan my J94 is the BR Black with Early Emblem. It runs pretty well, but not quite as good as most of the engines in the Bachmann Thomas Range.
@@kemptownbranch6624 I recon Percy will run a dream then . So far my diesels since they got double sets of wheels so are smooth as butter Thomas can be jerky … but he moves good … better backwards tho . So I would expect percy will run like butter as it seems . And I guess gordon James and Toby do aswell .
@@kemptownbranch6624 and mine is LNER black . Got him for £60 soo since he kinda works it’s not a huge loss . But it turned me away from getting a second . Now that’s for sure .
Nice video !
@@MaxwellTheTrainFan Thanks!

What model of flat car is that which Emily is pulling?
@@daclark-1995 hi! It's a Graham Farish Parrot Bogie Warflat. They came out a few years ago, and they're kind of difficult to find now. Graham Farish does make Bogie Bolster Wagons with steel beam loads that are in model shops now, though. They're similar to this flat car.
