im not mad he died im just kinda pissed he died in the second game wish it happened in the third and we got more joel and ellie in this game. but yea death was coming to him one way or another.

well in this world you have to be brutal... its the last of us...literally theres no hope for this world...even if they find a cure somehow ...its too far gone , I didnt have a problem the way Joel died.... made sense in my opinion and also why he had his guard down , but since I had played as this character and Ellie ...I had grown to love them soo much and I really wanted my revenge on Abby...and after killing hundfeds of people I was very frustrated when Ellie decided to show mercy to her .... I mean she had already kileld soo many people and it didnt make sense :D

Yeah, what a miss. I mean not being misogynistic. I love female protagonist, Aloy, Lara and Bayonetta but as a man like the first game having an option to play in my gender even just in a DLC could have been a service. I mean it's still part of the story. Maybe I just miss the Masculinity of Joel.

Regardless, being a survivor in the state of the world during the CBI for nearly 20 years, I'd imagine you'd have to learn to be brutal/ruthless in your actions and intent in order to survive.

@Grushka Monolith preacher The TV shows timeline is shifted back by 10 years. The video game's outbreak is in 2013. Joel is also 32 in the game instead of 36. Given the shifts in timeline it was probably adjusted for Tommy to be a desert storm/gulf war (90-91) vet for the TV show to give depth to his competence in the outbreak. In the game Tommy was probably born in 1982-1984. A more relevant conflict would have been the invasion of Iraq which lasted from 2003-11. Having him serve up to till just 2 years before the outbreak.

@@ForTheMonolith - Joel was born in 1983, and Tommy seems to be at least 10 years Joel's junior, so that alone would make them both too young to have served in Desert Storm, given that it took place in 1990. And there is zero indication in the game, dialog or otherwise, to indicate any form of military service. Given though they grew up in Texas, it makes sense both of them would've grown up with guns and had knowledge in their use, especially if they grew up hunting.
