Using the Smart Robot Arm from Keyestudio KFS003
Review by Dr Jennifer Martay
The Keyestudio Smart Robot Arm Kit has 4 servos to allow the robot arm to rotate along its base and the end effector to move up/down, extend/retract, and open/shut. These motions can be controlled via a phone, a laptop, or a joystick (my personal favorite way to control the robot arm). The robot arm can either be interactively used (ie, it immediately does each action you request as you request it) or you can pre-program up to 10 locations and then have the robot arm cycle through those 10 positions in a loop (similar to pick-and-place in manufacturing).

Setting up ESP32 settings in Arduino IDE for Keyestudio Smart Robot Arm KFS003
Просмотров 42414 дней назад
Review by Dr Jennifer Martay The heart of Keyestudio's Smart Robot Arm Kit is an ESP32. The ESP32 is similar but not the same as an Arduino Uno. People new to electronics kits may not have used ESP32 before. This video explains how to find the required documentation and computer codes - and how to adjust the Arduino IDE environment to work with the ESP32 Dev Module. Expert electronics users wou...

Trimmings from my Jupiter Clouds project 1 (ruclips.net/video/_M_1jgGETE0/видео.html) The colourfulness is partly because of not enough colour samples, and it has a lower resolution than the main video.

The second set of tutorials shows how the sensors can be combined...
Review of Keyestudio Vision Smart Car Kit: ESP32-CAM (KS5017)
Просмотров 2856 месяцев назад
The Keyestudio Vision Smart Car is a very quick (~10 minutes) build that teaches the user how to control LED's, motors, and a camera. The car links to either a phone or computer - so that the user can control the car remotely and see what the camera sees. This is a cool project that lets you see in the dark - for example, searching for a toy lost under the sofa or (perhaps more usefully) naviga...

Another goal is to increase the community amongst the year-group families. These sessions are appropriate for schools to use in...
Review of Keyestudio IoT Smart Farm Kit: ESP32 (KS0567)
Просмотров 4,8 тыс.Год назад
Review by Dr Jennifer Martay The Keyestudio Smart Farm uses multiple sensors to fulfill functions on a farm: alarming for flooding, movement, dry soil, high temperatures, rain opening food box when animals come to food box, transferring data to website or phone for remote monitoring, etc. Loads of fun although I struggled to get App to stay connected sometimes. Can take Arduino IDE code or Scra...
Quantum Field Theory, attempting minimal maths (originally "without maths or philosophy").
Просмотров 33 тыс.Год назад
Following my previous video on quantum mechanics (ruclips.net/video/uOrqGVr9CeY/видео.html) , I thought I'd pick the simplest field theory I could, and try to explain it as fully as I could but without using maths, or deviating into philosophy. Beware that this is a very condensed-matter / atomic physics way of approaching field theory. Although the fields and physics are the same, particle phy...

Review of Keyestudio 4DoF Mechanical Robot Arm Kit (Arduino) KS0488
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.Год назад
Review by Dr Jennifer Martay This Keyestudio robot arm is Arduino based. The robot arm uses 4 servos to rotate CW/CCW at the base, extend/retract the crane, lower/lift the end platform, and open/close the claw. The robot arm can be moved in real time to desired positions - or positions can be saved and then looped through in an automated way. The kit is fun to use, though requires quite a bit o...

Has anyone figured out why the line tracking sensor doesn't work?
Seems ESP32 is getting more popular. Probably because of the price vs Rasp Pis. The keyestudio wiki seems very thorough. I enjoyed this video. Thank you.
The wiki is really good - they are also really responsive if there's anything confusing or not working. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
This is a longer video but it steps through the different parts of the code and explains each one. This video will be most useful for students perhaps doing a robotics project similar to this - or in a coding class - or someone who is troubleshooting a similar project.
The extension no longer exists, if anyone has any solutions then please reply.
i think if you write Keyestudio in the extension search it will show you ( microRobot ) universal and also for car KS0426. should work !
Very clear steps. Ty
Thanks - I've got a longer video explaining the code that will be up tomorrow in case you are interested
Couldn’t connect to mine…..pulled most of my hair out but that didn’t work either. Car now parked in top draw of my desk.
Hey there, I was building this kit with its assembly guide but the top part isn't included in the guide. May I know where to find it.
did you get radiocommunication to work on this kit?
Great video+explanation+presentation! Thank you for sharing! Well done mate - NEW SUB 🙏🏻
I'm glad you found it useful!
Thank you for your comment! We will be modifying the other robotic arms! And hopefully ESP32's robotic arm can do something for you .😀
This version of the kit was so much better - I think you've probably stopped making the previous version anyway -- Yes, the arm is so easy to use! I showed it at our university and our manufacturing lecturer was so impressed about its ability to do pick and place!
This is pretty cool.
Thank you! I'm putting together a longer video about the code and showing it working - hopefully that video will be up later this week.
how do I connect it to the app. I hit Connect but nothing happens. :(
Where do you find the tutorials
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
play exo one
Fix the mic static bro. Unwatchable.
Thanks for the feedback. I recorded on my laptop. For some reason when I play it on my laptop it sounds fine. Then I heard it on a phone and I see what you mean. I'll get a mic.
good video our teach showed it to us i didn't understand anything in the first part lol
Love from Nepal 🇳🇵
Fantastic!
This is great! I always wanted to know this!
This is lovely! Do you think you could do ones of Saturn and the ice giants too?
I might find time one day. This took a *long* time to make unfortunately, so it won't be straight away, but one day. I might try something with a surface too - maybe Titan.
I enjoyed that. TY
Thanks!
hi, do you know why motor slots A1 and A just don’t work, slots B AND b1 receive power, but A and A1dont, i’ve tried everything, and the bluetooth app doesn’t work at all despite uploading it’s code into it
Hello Dr Jennifer, I am planning to use as part of a team building activity , how long do you recon it would take to put the whole thing together
Hmm if they've never done anything like it before, I'd suggest this be 3 different sessions potentially - building the main bit of the car, wiring plus some coding, and then using the car. Building the car could easily be 2 hours - especially if the group takes a while to decide who will lead building the car (and whether that person likes following instructions or giving it a go on their intuition and then fixing mistakes). If you want everything to be done within a 1-2 hour session, I'd suggest the Keyestudio ESP32-CAM Vision Smart Car For Arduino Robot Kit KS5017 instead. It can be put together in 10 minutes and immediately used. So it depends - if it's the building you want, this one would be good but would take a few hours. If it's the using you want, then I'd suggest the Vision Smart Car instead. Hope that helps!
Can i cultive real grass or is only decoration ?
How did you get the code to work please? i am currently having issues of the first step as i've never done this before and i cant tell if my board has the code on it or not, any advice/help is very appriciated
I plan to use this exact setup in my home lab. I recently bought a 3D printer, and I'm worried about the air quality. This video helps. Thx.
hey my upper servo seems to not work right. Have you got any ideas why?
good afternoon, can you help me with the extension? It doesn't show me MiniCar, only cutebot, how do I do it?
Same as me, did u ever figure it out!?
can't you get it to work with the maqueen extension?
Sending one to my grand daughter...great stuff
@JenniferMartay Hi, is it possible to program the car with a block program like scratch? And how do I do it?
Some of the kits have Scratch-based code as well -- you can give it a look in their online wiki page.
Can you send me the full code
Thanks for your comment! It is possible that there is an abnormality in the SW1 and SW2 hardware causing the two buttons to output the same analog value!
I think it's probably just an issue with my ADKey, probably not everyone's
@@JenniferMartay I'm really sorry you're having this problem! We are also in the process of checking the product in more detail.
Commitment is audacious
2:42 Earth has no crust
Excellent video, congratulations on completing it Hugo. The conditions were absolutely atrocious..!
You said "without philosophy" but at 2:48 you relied on "brute fact" which is technical jargon from philosophy and not clear without that background. If you re-apply philosophy and step back, what you've done is actually just shove a whole definition of an assumed root perspective on how we have to look at everything in scope, and bundled it all up into one "brute fact". Quantum mechanics proves its conclusions in the lab the same way a spaghetti machine proves that dough always becomes thin cylinders in the end. That's a very deep analogy.
Arduino Code?
It runs on arduino IDE to an ESP32-CAM. The code is available online. I can make a video explaining the different codes if that'd be helpful?
Great review!
This video was exactly what I needed, this product will make a great gift for my nephew. Thankyou!
dht library is not working
18650 batteries are nowhere to be found, and no one has any at home. It's the worst idea in the world to use 18650s. And even if I want to buy some I can't find any.
This review is amazing!! Thank you sooooo muchhh❤❤❤❤❤ keep making more content!❤
Hi physicist. I bought the Smart Farm a week ago. Assembled it and checked and rechecked the wiring. I installed the latest Arduino IDE v 2.3.2 for the Mac. Added the JSON link in preferences; selected Board ESP32 “Dev Module” & Port “/dev/cu.usbserial-1410”; Downloaded CH340 driver and required libraries. Not sure what else I’m missing. The sketches compile but on upload I get error messages like: A fatal error occurred: Unable to verify flash chip connection (Invalid head of packet (0xE0): Possible serial noise or corruption.). I’ve taken the farm apart and tried getting the individual sensors to work but still no joy. What am I missing? pls help.
diud you have any luck with this?
Did you get it working? I was having issues, but realize I had the wrong board selected in the Arduino program. Still haven’t been able to get scratch to work
My name is Nikhilesh, I had recently bought the solar tracker kit from amazon KS0530. I completed tutorials, the checking of motors, the building and wiring and followed them completely. Then when I pasted in the code which was lesson 11, their were many things wrong 1.) The tracker doesnt really follow the light, like it only goes onthe same path no matter where the light is. Maybe a problem in the photoresisters but they work fine individually. 2.) The upward motor doesnt move. It starts at the initial position of 10 degrees but doesnt move downward at all!! and even the downword motor in charge of moving side, vibrates a bit and doesn't follow the light as well ! I had put the battery the wrong way leading to smoke coming out from the charger which is why it isn't working but I see no reason why the project itself is not moving like it should. I had dismantled the project and tested the motors and they worked fine, but when I use the code of Lesson 11 it does not work it only moves sideways and not down towards the photoresisters. I really don't know what is wrong with this. Pls help Thank You

Where is the code? Can you please send it to me?
Hj have you gottenthe code
You'd be better putting the sensors on the sides of the panel itself it would then stop but as you're hitting the static base on the right hand sensor it will turn to the righ hand sensor, change the code to look for a light balance between left and right and then command motor output to be low to stop when it sees the equal point Job done
Can you please send me the link to the arduino code please, i really need it
Hi have you gotten the code?
@VinceJacobBarton The code is available free online -- if you search it, you can find it. Otherwise some of the other videos explain how to find the code for any of the projects
