I wish there were more OP stories being read by live narrators. I've read them all. IMO Hammett's best character. The AI is really sad. Why a Brit accent for a totally American story? I am already subbed and have 👍. This is a good channel. I wish this character had better treatment on YT. Would love to listen to all the stories at night.
AI
I find the voice very pleasant. Thanks for
Its such a pitty the reader has hick -ups.
May I ask for all the parts of the black star series? Thank you.
Will check this out soon
Robot bollix
AI voice - not a human, puke gross🤮
Fair until it gets to a word it doesn't know or doesn't understand in context. Has one "wound" a watch or is that a "wound" from a gunshot. Real people would be better. There are still some out there doing proper narration ... but while I wait for new ones I have to listen to cringy AI.
Bad AI read.
I posted similarly. An insult to the author.
Great story, dreadful AI narrator. This shows great disrespect for the author. If it isn't, learn to read like a human.
If it isn't, he's a human and so he's already reading like a human. I bet there are plenty of humans you wouldn't like to read to you. I hope that's taken up enough of your time!
1934 and life was hard.
Just excellent ❤
Many thanks for including another Raymond Chandler story! He's one of the greatest hardboiled detective writers 😊
Nobody writes like Mr. Chandler. Thanks
He's up there amongst the best: Dashiell Hammett, James M. Cain, Carroll John Daly.
Loving these Chandler stories. Thank you.
Read by a zomby
Oh dear AI bores me.Cant follow the story in monotone.
Wrong accent. Sorry
Cant listen to the AI narration. Why don't you just read it?
Mysteries stores set in Chinatowns were a pulp magazine staple. I suspect Hammett had a lot of fun writing this one.
This is my favourite AI voice ❤
Lots of word salad here ... lots of chatter & limited action -- writing style just as dated as the flourishing of cigarettes being part of the scene .. Ironic pairing with A.I. voice ..
This AI voice is fine. Still has a few glitches. Others are using it. It will not be long before it will be impossible to tell the difference. I am in my 70s. I was a voracious reader since The Cat in The Hat😊 I'm not sure why i have stopped reading. My eyes are fine with a 2 reading glass off the shelf. This is a godsend. Movies are ok occasionally but not for me. I wonder what the blind do. It must of course be possible to do everything with voice command. It's all wicked cool😊 gracias 😊
Whoever is doing this.....best of luck😊
I am quite content with the narration. Excellent work😊
This voice sounds very familiar. I like it. Boylston St. Boston. Memories 😊 thanx
I really enjoyed Bros. Of the Coast!
Young (pause) ‘un’ instead of young’un !! Love it😂
Wonderful story- thank u ❤😊
Wonderful story- thank u ❤😊
Some funny verbal mistakes but still my favourite AI voice ❤
Monotone AI narration makes this difficult to follow🤦🏻♂️
It's pretty good for insomnia.
"When the doors won't open, the hood push the muzzle of a chopper through the peep panel and rake the room..." You're obviously not an English speaker so: 'When the doors won't open, the hood pushes the muzzle of a chopper through the peep panel and rakes the room'.
I’m very much enjoyed this audio thank you very much for sharing with us 👏🥂
I think it is AI as some of the sentences don’t run true and the pauses occasionally come in the wrong place. Still, it’s a nice, soothing sound to fall asleep to and I love these old mystery stories, comforting and solid and British in their conventions. The London of my great grandparents I suppose!
Raymond Chandler's debut in hardboiled detective fiction. "Blackmailers Don't Shoot" is pretty good for a first story.
Dziękuję
EXCELLANT .
Thanks
Rhonda Farr. Is that like Rhonda Santis?😊
For heaven sake, quit whining! Move on if you don't like it. It's free, be grateful.
Thanks for your kind support

Thanks for your kind support
Francine's going to need a liver transplant like David Crosby.
This one did sound better.
Is it just me or are these sounding better over the past month?
I keep on improving production 💪💪
@@DMFictionmuch appreciated!
NOT THE BEST VOICE, but; a WONDERFUL story.
That's not AI because AI makes weird pauses but they probably should have had American do dash will have it just because the type of detective it is
It's AI. Mistakes abound.
Ive not heard this AI voice before. Not bad ❤
Sounds better for american accent stories
Most enjoyable AI voice ❤
My favourite AI voice ❤
