I think its coincidence but I first heard of John Cages silence compositions from Frank Zappa as well as Schoenbergs distonal music and 12 tone technique.

I blame autospell for Cage misspelling but the The Schoenberg one was all me. CC Rider, look what you done, done. Lol.

@@robeh2505 10 parts? Wow. That's a long radio program. I know it was the day before Thanksgiving, so the radio host probably had more leeway in programming. Happy Thansgiving to you too. All I know about KCCP is that it was under a church in Pasadena. I'll have all 10 parts before 5he 56th anniversary of the show on the 27th. Look for part 4 this afternoon plus I have two more shows with Zappa as DJ, another 50 s dedication and another one where he plays everything. Both are in their entirety. I found them on a file sharing app around 20 years ago. I searched the web and couldn't find them so I decided I need to put these on YT before the data drops out of M P 3's and no one would get to hear it I wonder if the Zappa's would like to release it in CD form, if that's possible with copywriters.

@@robeh2505 As you may (or not) know, everything in the Zappa vault and all things Frank are owned by United Music Group (UMG), so they would be the folks to release it. Because these radio shows aren't really the property of Zappa, they may not even have it in the vault. 10 parts at 15 minutes each is 150 minutes, or 2 and a half hours. That's quite a chunk of time to give to Frank (or any artist)... The other big radio show to give Frank that kind of exposure was KROQ in late 1977 doing the entire Läther album. Arf arf!
