Old Mage Knights Fresh Paint
I acquire a bag of dusty old Mage Knight models off the Facebook market place for a modest $20. I clean, rebase and repaint the miniatures for use in modern tabletop games like Frostgrave, Stargrave and Dungeons and Dragons. Oh ya, and there is a modern Space Marine in the bag and I paint that up as well.

What is your best option for super cheap miniatures? I take a look at a very inexpensive set by Path Miniatures. They were just a dollar each off of Amazon. They are simple fun models and I paint them all up and take a close look at them.

My Friend Dave and I visit the Nerd Market 4 on the University of Toronto campus. Dave finds some Amiibos, some Funky Pops!, some Wizkids Dungeons and Dragons miniatures, a Reaper Bones miniature, a couple of Warhammer 40k models and a t-shirt. I build the Leshy and the Deuslair sample pack, which was included in the Dungeons and Lasers Encounters Gamefound crowd funding campaign. The Leshy is a monster of Slavic mythology and it is an awesome model. The Deuslair sample pack is a set of three models from the Deuslair campaign world for 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons. They are a unique and interesting set of miniatures.

My Friend Dave gets me a SpongeBob Squarepants pineapple house ceramic aquarium terrain piece. I repaint it and a little Christmas tree ornament for use in tabletop wargaming. There is a lot of silliness as a result.

2 things Monster Painter....I remember an acquaintance of ours trying to convince GM's he should play an umberhulk. And you didn't mention the natural habitat of the bear! I love getting lot sales of stuff and seening what can be done with it, looks great!

I still have my mage knight. That troll chieftain was my favorite mini as a kid. I have a whole troll force. Did you strip the minis or just paint over them? I didnt have much luck stripping them.
@@furbs178 I just painted over them. It worked fine.
It is nice to see old dusty models get a new purpose as Frostgrave miniatures. My favorites are the trolls turned demon brutes and crossbow men. They look really good in red.

I was fortunate to stumble on Magenight and Dreamblade miniatures for $1 🇺🇸. There is a company called Vintage Stock that had cardboard boxes full of singles . I probably spent $300 + over the years . Good job 🎨

What is your favourite miniature from that venerable line Mage Knight?
I like the steampunk dwarves! My favorite is the guy in the walker suit ("Steam Tinker") - he's my all-star Treasure Hunter.

I have that same part in my bitz crate! We’ll time to make some sci-fi scatter terrain (take a shot 😏) 🤓 Additionally for covering the nostrils and the like one could cut thin cardboard or even the blister packaging toys come in. Cut it to shape and paint. Cereal box cardboard is in probably every other project of mine 😅
