Preaching to your brothers in arms is not forcing them to do anything. No adult convert to Christianity was initially comfortable with being preached to about the gospel. That passages about the log in the eye. You took that way out of context. That is in reference to sin, and how Christians should make sure there heart is right with God before we start pointing out sin to our fellow Christian’s. It in no way applies to proselytizing. And as Christian, we are supposed to bring the word to unbelievers, so this whole video is basically heresy. It’s one thing to submit to all earthly authority because that is what God’s word says, and as an Army veteran, I understand that rules and regulations is just the military life. Have no idea what restrictions are placed on chaplains, I was practicing Wicca during my time of service, but no governmental directives change the word of God that aren’t places like china or North Korea. You need to check your Christian theology their captain. Because proselytism is just giving the reason for the Hope that is within you, and that Hope has a name, and that name is Jesus Christ

To be a Christian is (to everyone but a few extreme outliers like JWs) to declare that Jesus was the God man, who died on the cross, resurrected, and will return again. Your job as a Christian, especially a Pastor (Chaplain) is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who do not believe. I understand that the military doesn’t want you trying to convert nonbelievers, but that’s in direct contradiction to what the Apostle Paul and others did and ultimately died for. What if they had all only shared the gospel with people who walked up and asked how to be saved? They were proactive in their efforts. Furthermore, just because we have Christians who need to be tidied up doesn’t mean that we should cease all sharing of the gospel with nonbelievers until our own house is kept. @@chaplainlinzey You cannot be a Christian and have a pluralistic view on such matters. That is in direct contradiction to all orthodox Christian thought.

@@techelitesareadisease8816 Thanks for telling me that I don’t really believe what I believe. 🙄 I didn’t know I couldn’t believe in Jesus Christ while still allowing people to have their own beliefs.

@chaplainlinzey Not an argument. Plenty of heretics truly believed in Christ. I'm sure even Arius had genuine belief. That does not change their message from false to true. Christ is either truly the Logos incarnate, or He is not. There is no compromise or middle of the road option.

I grew up around the Marines and served myself in the Navy at MCRD PI. Chaps was always someone you wanted on your side. I never noticed they didnt try to convert anyone but after it was pointed out it made perfect sense. The Chaplain is there to tend to the spirtiual needs of soldiers whatever they believe in. You wouldnt want to be laying there dying and a chaplain come up to you saying "well if you had converted I could help you cross over"

If you treat every faith equally you are useless as a Christian

I treat every PERSON equally, regardless of their faith. I don’t comment on their faith. Everyone is entitled to the free exercise of their faith.
