@@miked5562 I looked for a 'actual plays' after buying Forbidden Lands thinking of running it sometime. Yours, maybe because your new at it is the most enjoyable i've found, and helps me thinking about how i'd run the game so the slower or downtime parts are also interesting to me. I also like that you play like a actual ttrpg group instead of putting on a performance.

It's all good, forbidden lands is supposed to be a harsh land. Magic seems fun with all the misshaps, especially if you cast over your level - sofar they've turned a swamp into a desert, killed themselves and froze a party members foot :D@@miked5562

I played civvy flight sims my whole life in pancake and it was fine. Have never played DCS in pancake and would never do it, it just feels too epic in VR doing all that Maverick sh*t 🤣 And now I can't play civvy flight sim in pancake, either, it just feels like tasting ash or listening to music with earplugs in, or something. VR is the only way

@@miked5562 right on dude. I have a g2 with a 5800x3d and a 4080. I'm assuming your using a 4090?

I'm running override at 3300x ish... Runs well, 45fps reprojection in rural areas and 30 - 45 in cities. You could prolly push your res a bit more.

​@@Serpico360 can't have less than 60 now that I've experienced it in person. Massive difference in the perceived sense of speed betwixt 45 and 60fps. Yes using 4090 I set my G2 to run at 60hz and it has proven massively beneficial for DCS and MSFS as far as headset performance and VR recordings

@@miked5562 So I have a 4090, the Reverb G2 v2, 12700k, and 32GB of RAM (had 64, but removed 2 sticks and getting slightly better results), and your still looks to be running quite a bit better. Mind sharing some of your settings? Are you using OpenXR?

​@@xX_NightShift_Xx yes, openxr. 3100x resolution with balanced dlss, only textures set to ultra, everything else high or lower. Lod's both set to 100. Rolling cache off

openxr toolkit advanced options - disable mask (HAM) or whatever its called. That will get rid of the binocular vision of the mirror. Then pinch and zoom to one of the eyes in OBS

it's a balance - some videos have way too much and it makes it look terribly fake imho

No more cbr. "Simple mode", not advanced. Using the "Indistinguishable" preset. Had to do a few other things besides that, as well

​@Mike D what other things? This is pretty fluid for vr and what I been trying to achieve...only thing holding me back from going full on vr is recording smoothness.

​ @Carbon First, I set my G2 to run at 60hz. Set Game Capture as source in OBS, running OBS in admin mode. HAGS off - OBS performs poorly with HAGS on. Openxr toolkit Turbo mode Enabled is *key*

It is actually so much smoother than this. The day after this post we got the multithread update and my performance is now insanely awesome, but I can't get my OBS to record it well. I need to figure out new OBS settings.
