Where is the DROP HEADER? Secondly the steam main should NEVER exit the boiler between the risers! Who at Weil McLain let this video out the door? Check out Heating Help, it was my source for this text.
Your video series are very educational. I learned a lot about steam boiler. Plus you're an excellent teacher explaining everything with examples. You answered many questions that had about the operation of the steam boiler components. Excellent presentation!
What kind of tools should I have by default to repair various common problems that can happen to a peerless boiler. Right now. My psi was maxed all of 3 times it fired. Just bought house. I opened all my radiators. I added water to it so it was at the normal level. Then I took water out after noticing psi gage. It could have already been thsy high. It said low water when I took water out to lower psi. So I'm like...fuck. I poked a wire through the copper pipe thst is the little box that regulates the psi. Nothing came out of the psi. And well after I did that. I tried firing it back up. But now it won't fire. Pilot light is lit. I shut power off to it for 30 seconds ect. But still nothing. There is a little circular thing that let's the air out of pipes thag was working also. Anyways I'm avoiding calling a plumber and determined to fix and keep it upkeeped myself. It's warm now but want to get it off bucket list. Holar at me if you could
I know that is an old video but I must tell you that is an extremely educational video, I learn a great deal from it. I have an old steam one pipe system, there are two air vent valve on the return pipe ,the one that closer to the boiler is making a loud wisling noise.i change the valve ,I'm still having the same problem. Air valve is installed in a 20 in high. What could it be ? Thank u
Thakx WeilMclane great video. I would like to change my auto water feeder on my residential NewYorker steam boiler and I,can’t find,a video which has the instructions with the right water feeder for my boiler.thanx
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know a way to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me

Gene Vonderlinden mine was never on the end of the main. In 2011 someone t’d it off my return line and there it flushed out water. I didn’t know the reason and every repair man would just change the vent saying it went bad. In 2017 another repair man moved it further up my return line right next to the boiler..... fast forward to today repair man said it was never on the main all radiators get hot and vents work on them no need to have the vent took it off return line. So this is wrong yet again for the 13th time no lie
@@sewkraftysanaa systems vary. In my system main vents are necessary. I moved mine up and back and put in big Gorton vents. Steam gets around the 2 main loops quickly.
