Jill Webber-Fredrick - Unfolding: New Ways of Seeing, New Ways of Being
Jill Webber-Fredrick - Unfolding: New Ways of Seeing, New Ways of Being
Unfolding: New Ways of Seeing, New Ways of Being reveals ways of looking at the natural world and uncovers the feelings that arise from what we find. By combining the gentle and serene with the contemporary and bold, the pieces in this collection examine how we encounter nature. Traditional Sumi ink punctuated by bursts of color creates a space to explore the essence of living things through the images they present to us.

Sallie Knox Hall - Spirit. Animal. Encountering an animal or natural element and feeling a deep connection to a deceased loved one's spirit can be a profound experience. Many cultures and belief systems hold the idea that animals can serve as vessels for the souls of those who have passed on. For instance, the presence of a cardinal as a messenger from the spirit world is most often the first t...

Susan Quinn Horsfall - Playground After a lengthy break from painting, I felt a strong desire to explore and experiment with various mediums, surfaces, light and shadow, patterns, and textures, including oil, acrylic, and even spray paint. Over the past three months, creating these pieces has sparked moments of excitement and discovery, reminiscent of the joy of being a child at play. These cre...

Carol Dickerson - Tapestries and Looking Sideways “Maybe the desire to make something beautiful Is the piece of God that is inside each of us.” -from Mary Oliver’s poem “Franz Marc’s Blue Horses” Tapestries - Experimenting in Paint My paintings are all experiments. What if? What if I just staple this big piece of raw canvas to my studio wall? What if I mix charcoal lines into acrylic paint? Wha...

Patricia Coughlin - The Spontaneous Gesture This collection speaks to the ways in which curiosity, and a continual process of discovery, inform my work. I am an abstract painter, inspired by both the inner and outer landscape. I begin with a spontaneous gesture and let intuition take the lead, only becoming intentional later in the process. For me, painting is visual poetry and reflects the mys...

Ashley Andersen & Deborah Schoen - Preserves: Recipes for domestic rituals. A solo exhibition. Domesticity became the broader theme for this exhibition mostly due to it being a shared interest and anchoring part of both the artists’ practices. Schoen’s practice approaches notions of domesticity from social and political corners. While Andersen is centered on the spiritual language of our ordina...

Julie Kirkland - Hidden Strength Life is full of unexpected twists and turns-surprise challenges we don’t anticipate. It’s common to feel fragile and unprepared, doubting ourselves and our ability to handle the trials that come our way. But often, when faced with these tough situations, we discover a surprising inner strength that we didn’t know we possessed. In the solitude of our hearts and m...
Clark Valentine - Geometric Movements: New Works on Paper

Clark Valentine - Geometric Movements: New Works on Paper My work explores the phenomenological experience of mark making. In my drawings, each mark becomes a unique repetition of the mark before it. Over time, the disruptions of the hand change the marks and the drawing takes itself in new directions. These variations of the marks become key compositional features. The process of drawing then ...

The ART of the DRESS: Defining Women for Centuries Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Magazine for over 36 years said, “Wearing a beautiful dress is about knowing who you are.” As I draw near to another decade’s birthday. My thoughts are constantly about what is important to me. I am a multidisciplinary artist; a painter, an illustrator, a narrative artist. I have painted and sold countless...

Pam Holnback - Above and Beyond, Inspirations from our local color Light and color are the focus of what I capture in my oil paintings of the sky. The sky constantly changes, offering unique moments where light and color interact in fascinating ways. In my paintings, I aim to capture the fleeting nature of these moments, where light transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. I use light an...

The Art of the Dress 10/24 I am besotted with love for the human form, specifically emanations of the figure in motion. My attempt is to create and portray a kind of gestural language: a vocabulary of postures. Necessity and intent cause me to seek out and perfect the use of non-traditional, low-tech materials. Natural fabrics, such as silk, cotton and linin I find mostly in thrift stores. Fabr...

Absolutely love your art. Punchy colours.
I love how you keep adding to your style. Water, doodle circles, paper as fabric and now the 3 dimensional aspect. So happy to have a piece of this in my life!
Mandy, this video is inspiring and your artwork is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us! Your story and your beautiful work bring up the healing power of art making, especially while one searches for that connection to nature by opening heart and mind to its amazing beauty. How beautiful, really, both your work and your process! Thanks again!

Wonderful talk!! After seeing these beautiful pieces in person, it was fascinating to hear about the inspiration for them as well as the meaning behind them. The processes are also fascinating. ❤️
An incredible exhibit, thank you!
Abby "zooms with her feet" Kreuser!
Love love love! Excellent talk!! I want you to speak at one of my events someday and teach the kiddos!
I really enjoyed this talk!
Great talk Deb. It was interesting to get an insight into your process; it expands the experience of the seeing the pieces.. And you are spot on when you advocate seeing art in person. You perfectly described my reaction to seeing "Woman in Gold" by Klimt in NYC a few years ago. It is such a different, richer experience seeing art in person than online or in a photograph.
Loved it Deb!! As usual you expanded my horizons on what art creating and viewing can mean to us as individuals!! Absolutelyu loved the show and your work as always!!
One of the better best to do it!
Wishing you success in this new venture! ❤
Thank you so much!! 💛
Beautiful!!
Very best of luck to you. Well done!
