Spoilers for the lore of Disco Elysium: Not only is Revachol doomed to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, most likely along with Harry, Kim, and every other character we’ve come to know, the anomaly in the church (and the ever-growing threat of the pale, the unfortunate exhaust product of every human having a soul) threaten to annihilate everything. Disco Elysium is a world weighed down by the burden of *existing* as a human. And no one has carried that burden harder than Harrier Du Bois.

Read "Sacred and Terrible Air" if you haven't yet. If you can get past the - agreeably confusing, yet beautiful - prose, it has plenty of amazing worldbuilding. Worth a read, especially considering it might be the only piece of worldbuilding beside DE that we'll ever get.

A soul sits blackened and drowned with liquor and the smell of smoke. The Mother of Silence holds a peaceful domain, though she remains a figment, unreal. Light burns into retina, black spots dance and rising from the inken grave is a corpse, riddled with disco.

All the art is great, but that drawing of Cindy with communism antlers standing in the dark like some fucked-up cryptid really works for me, like damn.

I remembered when I replayed some dialogue and understand that World of Disco Elysium is fantasy in disguise. And I finished my first walkthrough without this understanding. Such memories this video brings to mind.

I was googling modern day knight project and right after looking at angry screaming men this got recommended to me. What a beatiful work of man and what a beautiful display of a REAL man.

To me Harry's Hanged Man Case was the moment that he is reborn. A sorry, deranged mess of a man who tried to drink himself into the grave. Instead he has a moment to reset and redefine himself. He discovers Mazovian Socioeconomics, Quits Alcohol in order to spite the CEO of Racism, Measurehead, and through dealing with Kim he becomes more open to changing his habits. A Phoenix rising from the Ashes of the commune, Martinnaise. Once the final ember of those ashes, The Deserter, is exposed and allowed to flicker away, a new fire can start, in the form of Harrier Du Bois. And maybe his flame can be the spark of a revolution. A recovering and reforming RCM veteran and the first Disco Commie. One whose psyche is so elevated he can make any person open up to him, despite being an emotional wreck. He is a klutz, and he is fragile, but his charisma and intellect is unmatched. Much like he is a Phoenix, He's also like mercury; he is toxic but he is like a liquid who can adapt and reshape himself to his environment. And the chromatic heu matches the silver of his tongue. Harry Du Bois: The Mercurial Disco Commie Phoenix, shining in the darkness of Revachol. The Coalition doesnt stand a chance...
