Tales from the Hood Movie Introduction
A creepy mortician tells three drug dealers four cautionary tales about revenge and justice while they wait to collect a drug shipment. The tales tackle issues like police brutality, racism, and child abuse as the setting takes place in the inner city.
This 1995 horror movie garnered mixed reactions, though ultimately became a cult classic, and even though we received two sequels, neither come close to the original.
Watch as I introduce you to this nightmare of a tale(s).

The Devil’s Rejects Movie Introduction
Просмотров 69412 часов назад
I am here to introduce you to Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects! A horror movie with comedic tones, it’s one of the best horror movies out there that many just don’t talk about. This movie is in the point of view of a sadistic, murderous family as a sheriff who becomes mad chases after them. As a screenwriter and filmmaker, I appreciate this movie because most just don’t do it like this. Watch, ...
From Dusk Till Dawn Movie Introduction

Quentin Tarantino is who inspired me to become a screenwriter. I was already writing short stories in the second grade when a movie changed my life. It was Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn that inspired me to get into writing scripts. The first few minutes of it drew me in immediately, and I have yet to look back in regards to writing. As a filmmaker and screenwriter, I owe it to this mov...
Denzel Washington’s Fences Viola Davis Monologue

This is a mimicry exercise I did for acting class. I had to perform the monologue the exact same way as Viola Davis. It was difficult to get to the character’s mindset at times. I worked on intention. I had an epiphany last week: I have to understand what I want from the other character. What am I intending to do with my body language, tone, etc? What do I want them to feel? What exactly do I w...

Ally McBeal Pringles Scene Last Take

This is my last take for this scene from the series, Ally McBeal. I’m in acting class, and what I did was try to do something different from my other takes. Nice first film. Congrats for not only writing, but directing and PUTTING IT OUT THERE! It's not perfect at all, but no one's first film is. There's something about the lead actress that is distracting to me...but that's probably just me. She's not bad at all, but in shots with other actors, her head is SO SMALL. Maybe it's just the camera lens or angle. Or maybe it's that the man's head is GIGANTIC? Nothing personal. Anyway, again, congrats.

      People adore The Room. Could you imagine some random Mark Wahlberg or Adam Sandler schlock earning a fraction of the cult success The Room has? It’ll never happen. Tommy obsessed over The Room, he poured his heart and soul into it. If the way we perceive Tommy after viewing is laughable and pathetic, that may not have been his intention, but… its accurate. You watch the Room, you know who Tommy is. By all measures its a great movie.

    Nicely shot and I liked the opening. I wasn't sure if the killer was approaching the podcaster's car or were we supposed to think it was his previous victim's car. The way you cut it made me think he'd killed the podcaster. I then started to think if this had come into the Script Reading Panel one of the things we might have asked was what's the set up for this woman's interest in this serial killer? I'm not sure it's enough just to say she's a true crime podcaster. What's her motivation? We're almost 10 mins in before we learn her sister was raped, murdered and dumped. I think I'd have moved the scene with the police officer to the front and then built from that. His refusal to help her would then give her impetus to go out and find this killer and do the podcast. The police officer feels quite 'tame'. I'm not sure it's a sit down talk. I think it's a him warning her talk to stay out of police business and her getting all riled up about it. I'm not sure if the guy at the end is envisaging her being attacked, or if she's really being attacked. It's a bit of a cliché to have him hand to chin as he (perhaps) thinks about it. On the whole though, I enjoyed watching it. The atmosphere was tense throughout, the music well used. Looking forward to part 2.

    The creepy horror music and establishing shots can't overcome the fourteen minutes of bad acting and exposition. Most of the dialogue seemed forced and/or unnatural, and that "sigh" in the car after talking with Scott really seemed over the top. As for the plot, the police can't find Paul but she knows where he's at so we are supposed to suspend believe that a five foot one-hundred and twenty pound podcaster would sit alone in the back of a bar/alley waiting for the alleged killer to show up.

    • @larryallen9631
      @larryallen9631 6 месяцев назад

      @@AliciaMcClendon It's no secret that the more contests you enter on Coverfly the higher your score. So who benefits from that? I'll let you figure that one out. And why do some contests have so many Quarterfinalists? To keep the writers coming back because it generates income for the contest. Same with most film festivals. It's like sugar. You get that good feeling when you eat it and you keep going back but is it really good for you? As for your film, I was actually being nice. 14 minutes and literally nothing happens until the bitter end, and it was bitter. I even had some of my friends watch it because I can be overly critical but the consensus was the same. One friend actually thought it was a comedy/horror and the bad acting was done on purpose. But I understand in this current culture/climate people don't like it when someone expresses their opinion if it's negative. So I will end this by saying it was the greatest short film I've ever seen and it will no doubt win many participation awards.
