The PS5 Pro probably shouldn't exist, it isn't a meaningful enough upgrade for the average consumer + as you said, it's double the price. i don't think it's nearly as powerful as a 7800XT though, not even close.

This is a Remaster. A Remaster is meant to improve visuals, animations and update gameplay mechanics to make them feel more fluid and modern. A Remake is a new title built from the ground up that updates/changes every aspect of a game while adding new content to bring it back feeling fresh and brand new. Example of a Remake: the original Resident Evil from 1996 and the Resident Evil remake from 2002. Example of a Remaster. Uncharted 1-3 from 2007-2011 on PS3 and The Nathan Drake Collection from 2015.

I think the hate in the comment section is absurd. I played the remaster of 1, UB and 2 and honestly, I prefer the original graphics most of the time. To be fair, I liked the remaster of Peru and Greece levels and there are other instances where the new graphics make the game even more beautiful. However, on so many parts I thought "What the hell where they doing??" when the original graphics make the ruins actually look like ruins and in the remaster it looks just... odd and out of place, too polished or childish, they erased immersive lighting effects, especially in Tomb Raider 2. Or changing the atmosphere with different color palettes where I 100 percent prefer the original. Tbh the reason I bought the remaster was only because it includes TR3 Lost Artifact. I finally wanted to play this expansion and it's my favorite. I will eventually play everything with remastered graphics so I will have seen it all at least once for myself. After that, I'll just stick to the original games. The remaster even killed the fps for original graphics... I have every version (apart from Lost Artifact) and the difference is uncomfortable

In the last few days I have been beefing my 3DS up with homebrew. It has officially become my favorite handheld emulator, beating out my beloved modded PSP.

I bought 7900XTX and it's performance comparable to rtx 4080 if you don't care about ray tracing which I'm not. Why would you decide that nvidia is better than AMD? yes 4090 is best out there but all other cards have strong competition from AMD. Power consumption is bad no matter the brand. Linux support on AMD is much better as it's drivers are open source. DLLS = FSR, don't really need to pixel peep to decide wich one is better. AMD gives more RAM which is important in some games, especially PlayStation ports.

amd need to start competing with nvidia with dlss, frame gen and ray tracing technologies. During covid everything was out of stock, so if an nvidia card wasnt available they would be a top end amd card. now everythings back in stock and dlss, nvidias frame gen and ray tracing tech is known to be so much better, people are going to buy nvidia first. amd's ray tracing performance is so poor compared to nvidias, its fsr is alot worse picture quality wise than nvidias aswell, they got away with in during covid, but now everythings in stock people are choosing nvidia and amd is falling off a cliff. upscalling and ray tracing are the future and amd seriously need to offer better in there next gpus

There is no reason to upgrade from the 30 series or 6000 series. New games that push the current/previous hardware are severely lacking. On top of that the new games have been absolute trash. Looking at you alan wake 2.

first of all, fuck nvidia(3060ti vs 4060ti, and 4060ti 16GB), second of all fuck amd if the bozos could just price their card right then they would have steam rolled nvidia ages ago, like they release a card and drop the price before the reviews even come out, not to mention the 7900xt relesase price, it made -100 sense to buy that, but now its prety decent. fire your marketing team amd.

I had an nvidia rtx 3080Ti & decided to upgrade to AMD Radeon 7900xtx. Why ? because I don't want to mess with the problematic new 12v power connector & cable mess. Just not going to take a chance on it melting. No issues with my 7900xtx. I love it.

AMD could have made a killing this generation simply by having normal graphics card prices. Nvidia went crazy with their prices, creating an amazing opportunity for AMD, and they simply chose not to do the obvious thing. They made this bed.

The entire DIY gaming gpu (and DIY in general) market is in a lull at the moment as we approach end of life for this generation, AMD in particular had oversupply of previous generation cards which they have had to write down the costs of which feeds into these revenue figures. Nvidia is propped up by strong demand for AI and Compute workloads in discrete; and strong demand from OEM - particularly laptops where Intel has been fairly dominant due to supply and exclusivity deals than make Radeon less relevent. Xbox console sales are tanking and while Playstation remains strong, the imminent Pro release is going to put a brake on the sales for a bit. The handhelds get bundled into Client as they are APU's and are a tiny market.

AMD fanboys cope hard as always. They have a lot of free time, because obviously they can't game like cvlzd people, so they spm the internet instead. 😂

I am gonna continue buying Nvidia because in the netherlands amd gpu's are pretty bad value and i think it is bc there's much fewer in stock. Like i look at the performance and look at the price, and then look up a nvidea card of close to the same performance and see that it costs much less literally every time. Might just be temporary but for right now amd is bad value

Why would I buy Nvidia card if I do not need cuda or if I do not care about RTX. RTX is super overrated, only game that does it well is Cyberpunk 2077 with pathtracing and only one GPU can actually take it properly... and it cost freaking 2000€ so nah. Nvidia locks out their customers that bought their previous generations out of their features such ass DLSS. Why would I buy 40 series when in the moment 50 series cards come and they announce DLSS 4 I bet it's 100% gonna be locked only for 50+ series cards. Why would I do that. They did that with DLSS 3 - and 30 series cards, same as with DLSS 2 and - 20 series cards all the while AMD releases FSR and their FG for everyone. Sure it's not as good as Nvidia counterpart but I do not need to buy new GPU every generation to have the latest features. In the exact same moment new GPU lineup will be released and new features will be added exclusively to new generation Nvidia customers will start crying that this is unacceptable but after 2 months will completely forget about it. Same store every generation. There is only one good thing about 40 series cards and that is that they are pretty power efficient. Nothing more. This generation was embarrassing just much as for team red as for team green.

7900xtx matches a 4080 and beats a 4070ti super. Currently £799 compared to a 4080 being £1000-1200. Id rather get a far superior spec from AMD plus there is a 50W difference in raster (rdr2) while being £200-£300 cheaper.
