This post is a little old but I learned the hard way , we always looking for perfection and tray keeping our Budget so I went to Cinegrey 5d DIY material 135 inches ,My projector is Xigimi Horizon S MAX Dolby Vision and Imax Enhance certificate with 3100 lumens , I was projecting in a 1.1 white projector screen manual pull down 135 inches and the picture is super great , white are white color are punch an accurate the only issue for me was the black that look kind of grey so I go ahead with the ALR Cinegrey 5D , the only good things I will say is on this material the black are equal than a Oled Tv when the light are complete off, the color also are more vivid but the white oh my gush look like grey and the hot spotting killing me and you can see some metallic particulars all over the screen specially in very bright scene , don't know if this the way the ALR cinegrey material work but I don't like it at all

It's a stage 3 600sci boat now that last year at the DS shootout I put down a 116mph pass ( wicked fast little monster). But thanks to Danny I just recently bought the 2013 SV40 open race configuration cockpit boat "named Caesar" that i am planning to give a well deserved complete makeover and it's always nice to see that as daunting as it may be the final payoff is well worth it in the end. white walls and ceiling are not good for projector use. The light will bounce off from the screen back to walls and back to screen, lessening the contrast.

It still looks washed out because screens are a scam.

Hi I bought the same Elite screen in 120 inch but I received a velvet border screen that uses springs...where have you bought this with velcro attachment?

What did you use on the wall to hang the screen ?

Many years ago, when people projected SD TV, a DIY screen substitute was some sort of building panel gotten at a HD or Lowes. I didn't purchase a projector at that time but was intrigued by the various methods people used to create large, inexpensive screens. I can't find any reference to that product now. Does anybody know or remember this? It seems to me that a rigid or semi rigid panel would make sense over stretching a fabric over a frame. Especially when I see that some people prefer a white wall over an expensive screen.

I understand those are high quality materials, but if you have a straight white wall, you can just place some black (velvet or other) tape on the edges of the image, and you are done. The result will be very similar, and you spare 1-2k USD, which you can spend on audio or a better projector. I find these screen prices too unrealistic, basically they cost what a smart tv cost, just not worth the money for basically a barely noticable difference.

I have the Aeon cinegray 3d 100" and Epson 5040ub and I didn't like the results.... Hot spots, dark image on the corners, and the screen came with some kind of stains that is visible in brighter scenes... Definitely I'd rather spend some more cash for better quality.

Solid review. I recently got this Laowa 9mm f2.8 for the Canon M50 shooting real estate photos and videos. It's been by far the best lens for real estate. I returned the Sigma 16mm f1.4, it just wasn't wide enough for r.e. But I miss that f1.4, absolutely amazing in low light. But as long as I shoot on mostly sunny days and the house has decent to good natural light, the results are great.
