Here at Hugo Nils Arkitekter, we want to show you something that few people get to see: how a rugged plot of land transforms into a home inspired by the nature around it. At this building site, the owner and his builders have the privilege to see first-hand how a bare stone-covered plot with a few tall trees evolves into a place that they can call home.

How to make the world a better place. Maybe start by helping one family with their housing problems. The assignment was the renovation of a single-family two floors house. One of the bathrooms shown above. There is so much pleasure in seeing the customer happy with the results. One step closer to the better place :)

When my customers and I sat down together to discuss their past and future, hopes and fears, and wishes and restrictions, different design proposals emerged. However, one idea stood above all of the others: “Think of the house as a black fruit with a tough skin. Take a bite, and the soft, light inside reveals itself”. With this idea in mind, their house began to take shape.
