Reserve Space Time Buffer

If you get knocked into reserves at the start of a space time, it cuts the RAM search short and skips the chance of a game crash. Warning: Going into the goo room changes the OoB areas in the escape.

Didnt explain the gate glitch at all...cant open the door @21:45
I want to start speedrunning SM and this is pure gold. Thanks for uploading it!
Kronic boost is my favorite dboost! I learnt it from a any% tutorial, it's not too difficult to pull off after a bit of practice and it looks swag af.
bingo bango
This was really informative for a noob like me. I appreciate you time.
Thanks for the tutorial I watched it 4 times lol
It's taken me about 24 hours... but I played along through your tutorial and this taught me a lot, I grew up loving Metroid but all my Nintendo shit disappeared after I "left the nest in 1998", so this was a great stroll down memory lane. Thanks again for your lengthy 8 part series here.
I must have tried the mock-ball trick about 100 times before watching this video (and its predecessor) and then nailing it on the first attempt. Thanks man!
So I can't get the wall jump during the escape is there something wrong with me? Am I retarded? Plz help
I realize this is old but I’ve been watching this recently and it’s been so helpful! Thank you for the detail and work you put into this!
i cant find Zoast any% tutorial anywhere please post link.
Chronic this level was awesome. great design and I love the ending. best 10 hours of my life I spent to beat it.
Why didnt u just enter the ending axe from the bottom?
+The Vandy oh ok
Wow, speedrunning this game is too technicial for me
9:30 I always call this room Taffy Tower. The blue platforms look like taffy.
100 percent and you didnt save the animals....
+gimmeurblood It's an optional easter egg and does not count towards percentage or completion. Doing it as optimally as possible you'd lose around 26 seconds or more.
crazy that you took the time to explain all this. thanks so much! I've played and beaten every Metroid BUT Super Metroid. which believe it or not I've never played in my life. yet I've been a huge fan for many years of the TAS and Speed Running community. 'bout time I pull back the curtain and beat the game myself.
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm trying to get sub 1 hour 100% and this helped a lot!
When I got on my ship in the escape, I had 0 seconds left. I'm gonna call it the Undead Escape.
For some reason, I always call the Ninja Pirate room the TV Room.
I always die against Ridley when I practice. What's a good missile/energy/super missile/power bomb/reserve tank count for Ridley on any%? My goal for the run is under 3 hrs, preferably under 2 hrs 30 min.
I'll be perfectly honest, I hate Maridia, but that being said, it's probably the area I know my way around best. Go figure.
Want Ridley in Smash? Support the Norfair Campaign to get Nintendo to follow up on it. :D
17:40 Look at that missle count. Don't mind me, I'm just an immature teenager trying to learn how to speed run Super Metroid. XD
I always try to get early ice beam when I practice
Early Ice Beam is totally viable. It all comes down to whatever you feel comfortable with as you learn the game. We were all there at one point :)
Kronicsauce Cool. I just say that because it makes getting to wave beam easier for beginners like me, and it also makes reserve tank #2 more accessible. I plan to do it that way in my speed run. I understand that more experienced players like you would probably get it later or skip it entirely. Speed running sure is tiring.
love this game and it was my first LP
that zeb shortcharge is really hard, strange how i find the maridia mainstreet missile easier yet its probably the same difference. I am short charge the same way you do too
The zeb short charge is much more precise, and the way that I do shortcharges is through a method that I developed myself, over the course of about an 8 hour period. Tough to learn, but you can get charges insanely fast with it. Worth learning.
If you turn off screw attack for the zebetite glitch, is it worth turning back on for the escape?
Honestly? No, that's a huge loss of time in menus compared to what you *might* save in the escape. If you feel you need it, then turn it back on. We're really only talking about seconds here in the long run.
Kronicsauce Alright. Thanks for this tutorial, helped a lot. Just did my first run, got a 1:45:32, mostly just happy I didn't forget anything.
That's great for a first run! Be proud! :)
Is there a way you keep track of everything you have? Like a pastebin or anything? Or do you just keep a mental note of it?
It's all just a mental note. After playing the game so much you just know. Everything is on a pre-designated path.
highly interesting.
This is such a scary category to learn, there's so much.
It is, but the first thing I would do is learn the route. In the tutorial I put many different ways of collecting the same items, from easy to more advanced. As such it should be possible for almost anyone to do the route as it's shown :)
Kronicsauce Yeah, this is going to take some time. What would you say a good goal time would be for this though? I just cut my one hour goal for any% and want to try something else for a while,
