Movement is already rusted so rinsing in a water I guess ok. Usually it's never-do since 1900s pocket watches are nowhere close to be waterproof. And you could open the case without breaking it; since it has been done, you will need new part or it's worth scrap value. Great find, the processing hurts

Great vid and interesting relics. I had ancestors in East Sumner, part of the Butterfield Plantation. It was known as The Briggs Farm, the family lived there for over 100 years.

Did u ever look n 2 getting it cleaned and oiled if not u should look n 2 it as long as it's not rusted it should work btw with new mechanical watches they should b cleaned and oiled every 5 years at the most but with older ones its every year

Note - destroyed hinges makes it only worth scrap gold value. Next time soak it in penetrating oil to free the hinges, and replace the movement entirely. It’s a common size.

It was a watch before you tore it to pieces . Brute strength and ignorance are not what you need to open a pocket watch

As soon as I saw coin I knew what it was. Last Time in England I found one. I was excited even though not hammered. There they look at it like a Rosie dime to us lol. That excitement of first uncovering a coin and not knowing what it is. Love that feeling. Than it goes into stack and onto the next...

The 1906 Indian was cool to see. I found one just like it when I was a kid and the foundation was being dug when my folks were putting an addition on their house. The original house from the early 1800s had burned in the early 1900s and the wreckage pushed down the hill.
