It is not an expansion tank. It is an overflow tank. Expansion tank systems are closed loop. Overflow tank systems are open to atmosphere, like this one. Otherwise informative, and can be used on other bikes as well.
I am trying to do this but... do you open these 3 places for bleeding while the engine is running, or while it is stopped and cold? If it is while the engine is running, do you wait for the fan to turn on? Thanks! This is really useful for me, since I don't have a compressed air system, so can't use the vacuum system anyway...
Thank you for this video. I was planning to refill my radiator today. After 👀 your video I was confident that this was the correct method. However did it a tiny bit different. I cracked everything open prior to filling. The rest your method and when was done also change the clutch fluid and new front brake pads
Thank you for the video, I did not know about the purge screw on the engine. I did this process recently without knowing that, and I have the feeling that even if the fan cycles correctly, I think it could have been better doing that..
Yes once the rad is full ryn the engine and open the highest bleed valve Careful its boil hot water once it runs soild water close and let cool rill the the expansion tank and run again should see a little bit come out the overflow hose under the bike .
@@markgawthrop7870 In the past with the pressurize device first and later trying to purge the circuit as you mentioned did not work, but I think that initially I did not put enough pressure in the system and that method of purging did not resolve the problem. thank you Mark (ryn you mean run right?, sorry I am not a native speaker :) )appreciate your help :)
