This is one of my favorite Jerry Garcia Carlos Santana combinations man how cool... You see folks everybody thought Jerry was a drug junkie he was(heroin is a b****) but he really was a music junkie just looking at him like a little kid amazing... Jerry wanted to play music with everyone... What a great spirit.. And he did.. that's why it's really not a stretch of the imagination to see that what I'm telling you about my relationship with him is true.. when he asked me to sit and with him, I couldn't believe it.. first I pretended like I didn't hear him say it, trying to figure out how to respond to Jerry who I loved from the very first time I heard ripple.. if I knew the way I would take you home I cried tears of joy and tears of sadness and I was never the same... So I told him I'm not good enough to play with the Jerry Garcia Band... And Jerry said, yes you are I've heard your songs with Peter... and I heard you play.. wow.. my greatest regret being too strung out on heroin to play with Garcia.. tragic.. anyway here's Jerry and Carlos this is rippin.... Wow, what an absolute gem of a recording. Thank you so much for sharing this. I saw many Dead and Santana shows in the 1980s and early 1990s, including seeing Carlos join the Dead at Calaveras County in I think 1986, but I had never heard/seen this awesome get together. So much joy here. Love it.
