Mansfield rotary rotation issue
Mansfield rotary was not rotating at the beginning of the job. Made contact with Jason, who was very helpful and responsive, and he provided some input on how to correct the issue.
This rotary is awesome and definitely recommended for use. Small amount of maintenance would have likely reduced this issue from happening.

bought this mower in 2015. still works well. i use it for trimming close to the house, ditches. i have a BIG yard to mow, so this has only been for that. vast majority of the yard is cut by my 46 inch Cub Cadet riding mower/ tractor.

you could just take the motor apart, oil the bearings, and then put it back together and use again.

I would think cutting a hole will magnify the problem because the mag release will be activated pulling out of the hole. I think better to cut off material.

I recently gutted my backyard using one of these.. awesome chainsaw, threw a chain and it took a couple min to get it back on. I believe the tightness of the gas cap and bar chain oil cap may be due to the o-ring on the cap itself. I tightened the cap down, not hard but snug and had to really twist on it to get it off everytime. Guess I'd rather deal with that than a loose cap. 😆 great vid!

In terms of the gas/oil caps, just use the flat head screwdriver end of the tool that came with the saw and place it between the two knobs on each cap and turn counterclockwise. Not a problem. I use mine daily felling and bucking trees for firewood sales. Grab an Oregon chain. Maintenance after every use. Starting has not been a problem. Do you sharpen your chains? I use a 7/32 free hand filing and a flat file for the rakers. Enjoy!!

I bought one from Home Depot on June 10th 2018 its fantastic easy to start perfect for trimming branches easily cut rite through 5 inch stuff paid $100 for it. It most definitely isn't a professional every day machine but for homeowner jobs its perfect.

Should always start loose then tighten after heat expansion. Then losen back after use so it doesn't cause too much tension when it cools down

just got one today jan 30 2018 ,,,have you noticed the screw to adjust the chain oil just keeps turning and never tightens or loosens ? i am just wondering if anyone else saw that ?

bug Den there’s a little post that connects to that screw inside the cover, and there’s a corresponding hole in the bar that that post needs to insert into so it can push and pull the bar. Take that cover off with the two bolts and you’ll see what I mean.

When you want to replace the motor on an existing system most mounts are designed to thwart your efforts. They want you to replace the entire unit. But, if you have the vent flashing sealed and it is an even larger pain to get on the roof and tear it out, you are relegated to the below roof replacement. Engineering screw up! Those damn 7/16" nuts are so close to the mounting that you cannot use a ratchet socket wrench, you must use a 7/16 open end and work the damn thing off a 1/16 turn at a time. Plan on 15 minutes if they are NOT rusted on. If the blade hex lock is below the blade, not above, like this video, you have to work your tool in between the blades. I had a large part of my toolbox up there to do the job.
