Where I lived near an American League team so I never really saw Rose play except for WS and national TV. But, I do wonder if Rose would have beat Cobb's record during Cobb's time. How many of Rose's hits scooted through the fast NL astro turf infields, those unreal bounces too. And, modern MLB played more games, had livelier balls and jet travel. The record belongs to Rose but just wondering.

And yet, I can see why it didn't make the cut - having Spock refuse to approve of Khan seeking to avoid bloodshed by saying he does approve of Khan's method of seizing the ship by force, is just stupid writing.

IMO, No loss with that cut from the film...besides you have to look at it this way - these programs have to be an exact duration to fit in their time slots with commercials. They should've kept this scene in. It always struck me as odd that McCoy would sit still and watch Kirk essentially die in a decompression chamber. He's always been so vocal and protective of his friends. This deleted scene is much more in line with his character.
