This is how the orbs move on the flying boats in this dungeon, I think it's normal everywhere else.

I haven't really played around much with it so hard for me to comment on it but it's looking rather okay now. In ST I think itll be up there with SS but for AoE it's still lacking. Though it's much less RNG than SS since orb proccs arent a thing for FF.

In this key I played "Ice floes" talent which makes your next castable spell castable while moving ^^

I haven't tried it yet and according to the latest things I read in the mage discord it seems to stil be behind in AoE and barely on par in ST which means you'll most liekly still run SS for maximum output. I wouldn't say its trolling to run FF though in either instance, at the end of the day you should paly what youll enjoy since that will proabably gain you the biggest dps increase if the sims are close.

However there is no lies or deceit in the thumbnail, I simply showcase what frost mage aoe peak numbers could look like in a key like this. As the picture is taken straight from a pack in this key. However, you're more than welcome to dislike the video if you feel like it.

I can understand that. There's a lot of RNG involved in current SS frost with how lucky we are with orb proccs during cds etc. Just stay grinding and I know you'll get there ^^

I think in this case we just followed the route. Ideally we would've had more dmg i.e if we had an ench shammy and so we shouldve gotten to the first miniboss with still 1-2 min on the lust timer.

Hmm... have you tried simming your character to see if there are any potentail dps gain from swapping your gear around? Are you also using the correct consumables etc?

Hiya! Thank you ^^ I just use the base blizzard UI and no extra addon / WA to have the numbers this way. Might be a setting that changes them? I am not sure.

Hiya! We use Ice nova mostly to shatter GS when there are multiple freezable targets. It can also be used as a filler spell in AoE when you need to move and don't have any proccs or instant cast abilities that have higher priority.

Shattering refers to using a spell into a Winter's chill stack. What this does is that it makes the spell have a much higher crit chance - you can read about it under the "shatter" passive in the spellbook/wowhead. It is one of the most important things to know about when playing frost mage both in aoe and in ST as our damage heavily relies on utilizing it correctly.

Yes this is true, however they can be sent down all other casts besides the 1st one. Which is the only reason our augment plays mandate in this key so they can deal with the add when they get sent down.

No need to aplogies, we are here to learn and improve! :D shattering means casting a spell into a Winter's chill stack. You can read more about what it does exactly under the "shatter" passive in the spellbook and/or on wowhead. Basically it increases the crit chance of our spells that hit a mob with the winter's chill debuff and is one of the core elements to how frost mage works both with it's hero talents but also just the way it deals damage in general.

It makes it so that we can always shatter our GS resulting in a much much larger dps gain.

Generally for AoE unbound changeling sims better for me when I run it with crit. For ST haste usually wins as well, though the margins are very close and so it wont be the end of your dps if you use one or the other always. For this fight I would probably sim something like 2 bosses with some type of small add uptime.

Stay at it! I know you can do it, it's all about getting the core basics down and once you have that in your memory you'll see your dps start to increase! I believe in you ^^

INC healing and dmg. Mabe lower cds on dk so more damage

The DK can handle the shield mechanic by himself and since DKs are immortal they dont care about taking 6 orbs. The healer always takes 2 in order to heal the group up.

Yes, I would say its a pretty significant dps loss depending on the options you have. Transmitter also sims really high and if the fight is shorter than 2.5-3 min I would go as far as to say I think transmitter alone combined with a passive trinket might be stronger than spymaster.

Which mog are you reffering to cause neither the one used in the key or the one on the thumbnail is a full set :P

Hiya! No worries at all about all the questions, we are here to learn and help eachother out after all! 1. What I like to do if I have no flurry charges but I have FoF charge is cycle Frostbolt - Ice lance, this way you still sue your FoF charges without lettting them expire while also trying to find a BF procc. Ideally you do use all your FoF charges with this build. 2. Typically I will use a mix of both. If you have two charges you can do FB -> Flurry and then generate the last icicles with ice lance, or vice versa of FoF first and then FB -> Flurry -> GS even if it put you above 5 icicles. As you can see around 2:05 I use all FoF charges to generate my GS even though I have 2x flurries available. 3. I tend to use Frostbolt -> Flurry anyways as the said Frostbolt can also generate a new BF procc as well as any splinterstorms you might have coming out also being able to generate it. We want to try and shatter as many WCs as possible as it's our main splinter generator. With both Frostbolt and Flurry also having a chance to generate 2x icicles it could be enough with FB -> Flurry -> ice lance to generate a full GS that you then use on the 2nd WC from the flurry. 4. I haven't dug suuuper deep into sims as it tends to make me crazy. If you look at logs and even r1 parses in ST using ray they still use it almost on cd and in IV and so my recommendation would be to do what you feel is the best. Using cometstorm inside IV is such a minor dps loss that it essentially is negliable. During my Ansurek kill I didn't send comet storm in IV on pull usually as I was trying to just send all the other proccs that I had avaiable to me at the time and so comet storm dropped in the prio list. 5. This was me being greedy with my IV dropping in 5s I wanted to make sure my next GS got the benefit of the spell dmg increase our IV gives us and so I knew if I send flurry it would give me the last icicles that I needed. Ideally I should've casted FB before, I might even have had time to get the GS out before IV dropped anyways. 6. Ideally both should be on cd but it is enough with this build that your IV is on CD. Most of the time it should be fairly easy to get both on cd before you press it unless you get really lucky splinterstorm resets in your opener. No problem at all! I also want to point out that these guides are not by any means made for the "min maxxing 99 parsers" out there. They are mostly made for people who are unsure, confused or maybe just now exploring frost mage and is there as a stepping stone in order to get good habits and use a build that will improve your dps and let you do good damage in raid. If you want to check out how to min max everything through simming and such I'd recommend going into the mage discord and talking with the people there who write the raidbots APL and such as they have much more in-depth knowledge about that part of the spec.

Hiya! I watched the video back and there were only a few istances were I used cms before orb going into a CoC, once when my orb was still on a 2s cd and twice that I missplayed. All other CoC (maybe 10-11?) were used correctly, so your statement about that being my current combo is not correct. Besides that, you most definitely want to use orb after you CoC and not Cms. Orb has the highest priority in our rotation and if you hold it to send Cms there is a good chance you will generate a free orb during that gcd and therefore lose an entire orb cast. The WC that your CoC applies will last long enough for your cms to hit but even so, shattering cms is not as important (Which is also why in theory we shouldn't use frost nova, freeze or ice nova to shatter it mid pull). The vast majority of our aoe damage right now comes from Frozen orb + splinters. With me holding CoC just comes down to fluidity in the gameplay and dealing with the added stress of trying to time the key. I do appreciate your comment though and Im glad you enjoy the content ^^
