I started with Flat Rocks. They are so so so docile. Then I got Forests and Emps, and then anything I could get that wasn't dangerous. I love Tri-colours with the hissing and threat postures. They were fun. The only species I had that was a little bit hot was Babycurus Gigas, and they were my favourite ever to have kept. They were just susceptible to temperature changes here in the UK. If we got a cold snap and the temp dropped a tonne suddenly, I could lose one, even though they were heated properly in their enclosures. Just found them to be not as hardy as the other tonne of scorpions I have kept.

I wanted a scorpion for a long time, but looking at the care and the enclosure, normally in the forums it says that it has to have a large terrarium with a heating pad and a cold zone, but then I look at these videos, and they are in a plastic tupperware... I don't understand anything. Can someone explain why? Is it depending on the species? Is it normal to have one in a tupperware without a heating pad? Or a heat lamp?? I mean, when I see the enclosure, and it`s plastic, wouldn't the plastic melt with the heat?? I'm so confused!

I would say pandinus emperator (Emperor scorpion) is the best to begin with, very docile and easy to care for and no real danger unless allergic to venom
