    Solar panel doesn't work? Need to plug in AC. Did you call company/ replace?

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby 11 часов назад

      The solar seems to do a great job keeping the robot charged. But if the batteries run down the solar can take a while to recharge it. I like to charge it with AC and then put it in the pool. It will run all day that way. Then I take it out after sunset and put it back in the pool in the morning. It seems to work best that way. I will have to make some update videos.

      These types of pool vacs have a fine mesh in the pool vacs basket. If you have a lot of fine silt in the bottom of your pool like I do it will clog up the pool vac pretty quick. Once the pool vacs basket is clogged up you will have to clean it or it won't work right. But if you keep cleaning the basket it will eventually clean your pool. The old fashioned pool vacs that you connect to your pool pump skimmer with a hose seem to work pretty good. If you return your pool robot you might want to try a Suction Pool Cleaner. I used to have a really nice Hayward Poolvergnuegen but it got worn out and I wanted to try something without a pool hose.

      Yeah we have had it for a few years now. It is a good portable AC. If you have to go with a portable AC the Black+Decker is great. But if you can go with a window AC unit it will be cheaper and work a little better. The best would be a mini split but they can be a little price. So it really just depends on your situation.

    im having a weird problem, the thing to turn the knob is loose so i tighten it, it had a washer but it fell off, now it has cold and hot water, i got a water filter a few days ago and it used to have hot water also but once i switch it to the shower head its hot for a second the turns ice cold

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby 2 дня назад

      I am not sure why that is happening. I had a recirculation system valve next to my water softener system and I would only get a few minutes of hot water in the shower upstairs. I turned it off and now I get all the hot water I want upstairs. It had failed and shutting it off bypassed it. Check and see if you have a recirculation system valve in-between your hot water heater and you water filter. I am not sure if that is the issue but turning it off worked for my upstairs shower.

      So for my clog I just pushed in the sewer hose until I could feel the head of the sewer jetter bumping up against it. I kept spraying it until the clog broke up. I had to have a tub under the cleanout drain to collect the water that was backing up though. But that way I knew the drain was clear because the water started running down the drain pipe. My pressure washer isn't that powerful so it took a few tries to break up the clog. If you have a more powerful pressure washer you may break through the clog a little quicker.

    A lot of other videos I have seen use the "straw" to suck the water up instead of dumping water in the top. Is there a reason to not do that? It seems like a good idea to get it clean as well.

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby 15 дней назад

      I just went by the instruction manual. For cleaning and rinsing the tank Avalon recommends pouring 0.6 gallons of water into the cold tank and then draining it. I haven't tried the other method but I think you will need to close the lid and turn the power back on to use the straw to suck water up into the tank. Then you will need to turn off the power and open the lid to drain the tank. So I think the Avalon recommended instructions are designed to be more efficient. You don't have to open and close the lid as much with their instructions. I also think it has to do with protecting the pump. If you go with the other method just make sure you don't run the pump dry or you could damage it. But I think the main reason that Avalon recommend this method is so that people will open the tank and inspect it. So yeah most people will just put a cleaning solution in a water jug and never open up the tank to inspect and clean it. A combination of both techniques might be the way to go. Let me know what you end up doing and how it works out.

      @ThatHobby 17 дней назад

      If you can get a Mini Split AC that would work best for a room without windows. But you will need to drill some holes in the wall and connect it the outside or to the roof. If you can cut a hole in your wall you can use almost any AC unit even a window unit. The Black+Decker portable AC will work in dehumidify mode without venting it though. But you will need to connect the drain hose when you run it in dehumidify mode so you will have to have a way to drain all the water that it collects in the unit. I am not sure how hot it is in your room but dehumidifying it may be enough to make it more comfortable.

I have it app on a pedesdull, so the drain just goes down into an old cat littered jug. So far I have it in the black one for the dehumidifier. Haven't needed the AC yet this year. Their terrible manual doesn't explain that.

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby 17 дней назад

      The top drain is for the dehumidifier. The bottom drain is used to drain the unit when you are not using it. They recommend keeping the hose attached to the top drain when you run it in dehumidifier mode. But they also recommend plugging the top drain plug when you run it in AC mode. The compressor will get really hot inside of the unit and it circulates the excess moisture in the unit to cool down the compressor when it is in AC mode.

      It worked great for my mirror but I haven't tried it on anything big like a spoiler. It says it bonds plastic to metal paint. So it should work.

      If you take everything out of your refrigerator and defrost the whole thing it should only take a couple of days. But if you just defrost the icemaker it could take a while depending how bad it is. I got a really nice countertop ice maker sent to me to make a video about. I have been using that when the one in my fridge needs to be defrosted. I actually like the ice from the countertop ice maker better.

    dose it fill up fast?

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby 18 дней назад

      I opened the drain plug to see if there was any water in there and it was empty. If you run it in AC mode it will circulate the moisture inside of the unit to cool the compressor. These things get pretty hot inside when you run the AC and should evaporate most of the moisture so it shouldn't really fill up. But if you run it in Dehumidify mode it will fill up really fast and you will need to connect the drain hose when you use the Dehumidify mode. I don't get a lot of humidity where I live. So I only run it in AC mode.

    Great video! Question for you: I have a 30x80 door. This model starts at 32 inches, but I’m not seeing any reason why it wouldn’t work for my opening as long as the trim is wide enough. Do you agree? Nothing besides the door handle/lockset extends into void between the surface-mounted security door and the inner door, right? Thanks!

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby 20 дней назад

      The security door will be mounted to the door frame surrounding your existing door. It will open outwards and should be larger than your house door so that it can be attached to the door frame. To get the right size measure your door frame from side to side and top to bottom. As long as its not larger or shorter than your door frame you should be good to go.

    I just bought one of those second-hand but it looks in very good condition, which I don't understand because after a while it accumulates water in the drain that is supposed to be used for dehumidifying, say the one above. why would this happen?

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby 20 дней назад

      If it is running in dehumidify mode it will build water up in the top tank and you will need run it with the drain hose attached. But in AC mode it should be pretty hot inside of the unit and it uses that moisture to cool down the unit. Try draining it and then running it for a while in AC mode and see if it evaporates the moisture inside of the unit.

    • @leurylora
      @leurylora 17 дней назад

      Thanks, I did that and if it worked, the water it generated evaporated.

      @ThatHobby 20 дней назад

      I put one camera on each side of the house. So they are about 20 ft away from the router. The wifi connection is great at that range. I am not sure how far they can go though. This video was more about the POWEROWEL batteries. But I can make a dedicated video to the Blink Cameras. I like having them connected to the Echo Show. It's pretty nice to be able to pull them up on there and see the side gates in the yard.

    How long has this ice maker last for you and is it still working?

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby 25 дней назад

      I have had it for about 6 months now. I use it everyday and it still works great. It can be kind of loud though. But it has an off button so you can always turn it off once it has filled up with ice. Our family room is right next to the kitchen. Kitchen noises in general can be kind of distracting when I am watching TV. So yeah that's the only issue other than that it's great.

    I don't have a plug drain like that. I usually have to crawl under the house in the mud at 77 years old with arthritis and snake it from the bottom up. Can't do it from the sink because the snake turns up and goes out the roof vent. Will try your Jetter method to just travel down the roof vent instead. Hate crawling under the house .. too many spiders under there.

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby 26 дней назад

      Yeah I had spiders under my old house too. One time after working under my old house I went to take a shower and I set my hat on the bathroom counter. When I got out of the shower there was a big spider on the counter. It had been on my hat the whole time.

    What about rain?

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby 27 дней назад

      Normal rain shouldn't be an issue. Plus the areas that we have it set up are protected from rain and wind pretty good. But if it is on a side of your house that is exposed and you get a lot of wind and rain you may need to take it out if you have a really bad rain storm that is blowing the rain sideways.

      @@jhm68 I think I misunderstood your original question. From what I understand the battery switch has to be on to start the unit. But I don't think it has to be on to charge the battery. Here is a link to the Manual. On the PDF the battery charging instructions are on page 22. It's pretty ambiguous but I don't see anything about turning on the battery switch to charge the battery. You can hit CTRL F to search more about the battery charger. www.cummins.com/sites/default/files/files/manuals/onan-p4500i-inverter-portable-generator-manual-03-2021.pdf
