What is your Favorite Uncharted Game or Naughty Dog Game of All Time?
That cat intro perfect timing 😂
The premium membership part is gunna kill
2025 looks like it's going to be a heck of a year for gaming!
Great information.. As I see it, it'll be good for some, however, others will be disappointed. On a new subject, love you room! Especially the ceiling. I think it's almost perfect. Almost. Add strip lights to the end of the room and those slats from the ceiling to at least the back wall lol. You're awesome..... thank you
Thank you. I actually do have strip lights on the other end of the room as well. I just didn't have them on for this video.
Does the portal have stick drift issues like the dual sense controls?
I haven't heard of any stick drift issues with the Portal. I actually have never gotten stick drift on any of my controllers, so I guess I'm kind of lucky.
That's awesome. I have 4 controllers for my ps5 and all have stick drift problems. I enjoyed your review and most likely will get a portal in the new year.
I think the next Sony handheld is going to be a lot better.. This one still looks good tho
Yeah just bought one thinking I could play on the cloud, but what they didn’t tell me is that it doesn’t have cloud streaming in Australia, Sony just shafted us
Sorry to hear that. It just released on the Portal so it may make its way to Australia and the rest of world eventually.
Hmm i guess its no different than buying a new ipad or iphone every year. Dont real need it but its cool to have options 😂
It doesn't work in the Middle East. 😢😢😢
Cool
At this point, I have over 130 Hours in Lies of P! How many hours do you have in Lies of P? I could see myself playing this game for another 100 hours+.
Hello, great video. I have ~140 hours and I'm plan to finish NG++ and NG+++
Very nice @@HidingInShadow
Almost 150 lol
The Portal is my favorite handheld because it offers me the closest PlayStation console-like experience in my hands. I'm fortunate enough to have good internet and get a good remote play experience. The form factor of the Portal is awesome with its big bright screen and Dualsense grips. PlayStation has been my Gaming ecosystem for 21 years and while other gaming platforms are offering portable systems that play games natively with more impressive tech, the Portal and future rumored Playstation handhelds are what excite me. Those other handhelds like the Switch, Steam Deck, and other PC handhelds are pushing the tech further, and I can't wait to see how PlayStation responds.
Not even close to the best. It only plays ps5 games. And not very many. Way too limited
Of the handhelds I've used, it's my favorite (at the moment). I just spend my time gaming on PS5. So I get my gaming fill from PS5/Portal. I'm not saying Portal is the best handheld for everyone, but it's the best handheld for ME and my routines/interests. I just want to stick with my 1 ecosystem.
@JamesGAMEStube that makes perfect sense
But when i connect to ipad i get feedback.
This is a ps streaming machine not a portable gaming device a portable is a rog allyx steam deck lenovo legion go msi claw switch etc u said it ur selr u can only play at ur house 😂
And I'm fine with that limitation. PlayStation is my ecosystem and the Portal is a well-made device for what it does. I'm sure those PC handhelds are great, but I'm not invested in PC or other gaming ecosystems at this moment.
Classic JRPGs would be perfect for playing on the cloud .
Hey! What case do you have on it? I Just received my portal and am looking for a case to get. I also need to get a screen protector. Great video!

Thank you
Only if you own a ps5 & own all the games. Otherwise forget it. PS Plus leaves a lot to be desired. The catalogue is poor. Paying 200 for access doesn’t make any sense. We are really only talking about you owning those handful of games that are PlayStation 5 console only so that you can then stream them with a portal. Meanwhile, I have 326 games available to stream via Gforce Now, so if I’m gonna cloud stream I think I’ll take anything else that isn’t a portal. b/c cloud streaming either Gforce now or Xbox game pass works on basically anything & everything, except, I imagine, a ps portal. About the only devices you CAN’T use to get the job done is probably a Portal & a Nintendo Switch.
If you're invested in those ecosystems then sure I understand why you would choose that experience over PS Portal. PlayStation is my ecosystem. I'm not really invested in Cloud gaming I was just trying to bring up this new feature they added to Portal. I love the Portal for extending my PS5 experience via remote play.
I believe the PS Plus Premium catalog is solid with all Classic PS games and newer first party and third party games. To each their own, it's subjective.
it has no consequential 1st party support. It does not have the latest God of War game or either Horizon game. It doesn’t have any final fantasy game. It doesn’t have gran turismo. It doesn’t have Stellar Blade. It doesn’t have Spider-man 2. It doesn’t have Astro-bot. It doesn’t even have Returnal. Imagine Microsoft charging 16.99 for an equivalent of this service. lool. However, IF you want to stream this Service you can do it with a Steam Deck & that display is gonna beat what the portal is offering & if you already have a steam deck you won’t have to pay an extra 200. It works best if you install windows onto a steam deck, granted, but I think you should install windows onto a steam deck anyway.
How the heck does it only have 1 of the major Motostorm games? If you ain’t gonna give us anything modern. Prolly 2/3 of Sony’s major modern releases are available on PC but they ain’t here streamable on this service. You’ll get a more capable version of modern PlayStation by buying a ROC Ally or Legion Go then a PS Portal w/o owning a PS5. Spider-man 2 is the next game releasing soon on PC while it’s nowhere to be seen on PS Now.
Well at least its now more than the worlds most expensive ps5 control pad 😂, shoulda had it from the start, if microsoft did this you'd never hear the end of it from ps5 fans. And it still isnt on par with xbox cloud 2019
Xfinity wifi same as wired no problems here
No it's not why pc gamers play plugged in like my self the lag input difference in Streaming and muktiolayer ganes is 2x sometimes enough to notice watch the digital foundry review they do not like it
I've had a port al, a steam deck and an rog Ally. All of them can stream the PlayStation. And PS. Plus in my opinion if you are going for a device to use alongside your PS5, I would suggest the steam deck if you are looking for a cheap price. Easy setup and native gameplay outside of PlayStation's services. But if you want the top of the line version of the remote play experience, nothing beats the dual sense. So I understand why people long the PS portal
If you’re invested in both PS5 and PC Gaming then I could see why the Steam Deck would be more compelling. However, if your someone like me who is solely a PS5 gamer and doesn’t have much of a Steam library the Portal is more compelling. The Steam Deck is more expensive and the remote play on it takes some work around, and it doesn’t offer all the same features like adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. Nothing against the Steam Deck, I’m just not a PC gamer.
It can stream the PlayStation but it can’t stream ps plus. Ps5 games need the Touch Bar which the steam deck and ally does not have
Dude, it makes no sense for them to make a hybrid ps6 look how long the PS4 generation has been. They're still making PS4 games way into the PS5 gen. So the handheld just needs to be able to run PS5 games and with the steam deck being the least powerful of the handheld PCS is running PS5 games. So how much stronger does the tech actually need to be? Not much in my opinion. It just needs to have a extremely nice battery because the rog Ally and steam deck are pretty much already Xbox and PS5 portables because we have such games as silent Hill. 2. Ratchet and clank Spider-Man remastered Alan Wake 2. Resident evil 4. Black myth wukong and all of them are running on handheld PCS. I think Xbox and Sony can make handhelds😊 very easily with the current tech. Look how well the portal is selling without local gameplay
I mean maybe we can get both a PS5 portable/hybrid and PS6 portable/hybrid. I think we’ll get PS6 by 2028 but who knows.
The future for handhelds looks bright!
At this point, I'm staying with my base PS5. I don't feel buying a PS5 Pro is justified at this point (my opinion is always subject to change). No judgment for people who feel differently, I just rather wait for PS6. I hope you enjoyed this satire video!
I am so happy you have discovered the world of Silent Hill. Playing the remake brought back so much of those same feelings I had back in the early 2000s the first time I played the original .You are correct that this game has a vibe. You will be blown away by the ending. Enjoy
Silent Hill 2 is one of the most atmospheric games I have ever played. I love it!
Holy f**k this game skyrocketed in value
The last of us remastered The last of us 2 Yakuza zero Like a dragon Yakuza Resident Evil 2 Ghost recon breakpoint Ghost recon Wildlands Days Gone
This was an amazing watch! When you said ‘it’s like a baby learning to walk’, that was actually going through my mind as well! So much fun seeing you progress and figure things out. After many years in VR I take the simple things for granted. It truly must have been overwhelming for you. I cut my teeth on wave shooters like space pirate trainer, so didn’t have to learn a bunch of game mechanics all at once. Nicely done!
Fab isn't it ? My first go was Tumble & that confused me enough ... enjoy & don't puke ❤
What are your early impressions of PSVR2 and what are some of your favorite games so far? After a few weeks with PSVR2, I feel like I'm just scratching the surface of what this device can do. Each time I use the headset, I enjoy the experience more and more. At this point, I've played Horizon Call of The Mountain and a little bit of Gran Turismo 7 and Tetris Effect Connected. I'm excited to try more games and share more PSVR2 videos with people on RUclips.
Enjoy! I plan to be back with more videos soon!
Does the game come with multiplayer?
sorry if there are any mistakes, I'm using the translator
No it does not come with multiplayer.
I was fully expecting Tom Brady to be number 1.
Most of my playthrough of GOW Ragnarok was played on Give me No Mercy Difficulty (Hard Difficulty), so I would of probably completed and platinumed this game sooner than 70 hours if I played on Normal.
I only recently acquired a PS4 from a friend who upgraded to PS5. Always having previously been a PC gamer. I managed to get several used titles from a game store. ‘The Last of Us’ caught my attention and the sales guy said it was a ‘good choice’. It’s totally blown be away! The story is so brilliant, and the growth of the relationship between Joel and Ellie is so touching it actually brought a tear to my eye at the end. I also have The Last of us 2. I can’t wait. Your choices for your top ten are very good.
The other gods of wars some of them were better this one had great graphics and good storyline kind of but the actual game mechanics and play sucked
Not even opening mine!
1 disc? Are they that hungry for money? I'm gonna have to pass. Thanks for the video.
Over 10 hours into God of War Ragnarok now. Still loving it. I've been switching back and forth between Normal and Hard mode.
PS4 isn’t great looking but it’s way nicer then Ps5. All versions. Launch, pro, slim etc. I just sold my ps4 to a neighbour, few weeks ago for £100. Thought I might aswell, as I have a Ps5 and I put the money aside, to go towards the ps vr2. I see a video where they showed a gun add on for psvr2 , does any1 know if it will be available at launch?
Playing God of War Ragnarok on release day. I'm also taking that Thursday and Friday after release day off from work. Can't wait!
Enjoy!
Great video James! I just received my firefly edition today. Had to ship to europe
Oh nice. That had to be a tough catch. Thank you!
@@JamesGAMEStube It't the Last of us, it was worth it, but yes it was
Since filming this video I've gotten to play a little more of TLOU Remake. I'm still enjoying this newer version of TLOU. The more I play the more I notice the leap in tech in this game. Playing this game on Grounded with the PlayStation 3D Audio Headset and DualSense controller adds an extra level immersion to this game. Is this Remake worth it to pay the $70 right now? For me as a TLOU super fan it definitely is, but I can see why many people will wait out for this game to go on sale. This is an absolute must buy if you have never played TLOU! This is definitely one of the best games and technical showcases on PlayStation 5. Stay tuned for more videos on TLOU Remake, as I'll have more to say soon!
Marvin doesn't want to be in The Shadows.. 🤣
Hey, great video! I've been enjoying PSVR 1 for the past 4 years, and am super excited for PSVR 2. It was interesting hearing the perspective of someone who hasn't played VR on this. I can't sleep, and I've got some thoughts (a lot, actually!), so I'll just go point by point on what I think about what you're saying in the video. If you don't wanna read the whole thing, that's fine. At least skip to the end where I talk about your number 1 point, as it really resonated with me. - You did a pretty good job of describing VR for someone who hasn't actually experienced it! A lot of non-VR players assume it's just like a 3D movie, when it's really so much more than that. Yes you get proper depth perception since each eye is seeing a different image, but you can look all around you and see the virtual world in every direction. It really does feel like being inside the world of the game. One thing people don't really appreciate until they try VR is the positional audio. Since the game knows the orientation of your head, the audio can change realistically as you turn your head and look in different directions. It adds a lot to immersion. - Cinematic mode on PSVR wasn't great because the resolution was so low, so PSVR 2 will be a big improvement. PSVR 1 was good for watching 3D movies though. This feature hasn't been confirmed for PSVR 2 yet, but it's gotta be there. On that note, I hope some non-VR games let you view them in cinematic mode as if they were running on a 3D TV. It wouldn't be as good as proper VR support, but it'd still be cool get a proper sense of depth. - Sony saying it's 4K is a bit of deceptive marketing. The 2000 x 2040 per eye resolution is correct. The combined resolution is 4000 x 2040, hence "4K" (4000 pixels across both screens, but not true 4K resolution) - Eye tracking won't actually change where the in-game camera is pointing (that's still tied to the direction of your head), it just lets the game know what you're specifically looking at in front of you. Don't underestimate this though. Eye tracking might be the single most important feature of PSVR 2. Aside from the ways developers can use it in gameplay (aim assist, NPC's recognizing when you're looking at them, jump scares! etc.), it lets developers use an optimisation technique called Dynamic Foveated Rendering to make games run better. Basically it exploits the fact that the human eye can only perceive high detail in a small area where you're looking, so the game renders everything where you AREN'T looking at lower detail/resolution (which should be imperceptible to you). It's the reason PSVR 2 games like Horizon Forbidden West and RE8 look as good as they do. VR usually demands a ton of power to run smoothly, which usually means games have to be dramatically downgraded visually. DFR removes a lot of that power requirement, meaning PSVR 2 games can look almost as good as non-VR PS5 games. - The break out box for PSVR 1 WAS a pain to set up, but I just left it attached. It has HDMI passthrough, so you don't have to disconnect it any time you wanted to play a non-VR game. But the wiring situation was a mess for sure. It was necessary because the base PS4 wasn't powerful enough to run VR, so it provided a bit of extra processing power. I'm really looking forward to the 1 wire setup of PSVR 2 though! - The Sense controllers do look great, and have all the tech from the Dualsense. Fun fact, the adaptive triggers for the Dualsense actually came from Sony's VR department. They were designed first for the VR controllers, but management liked them so much that they brought them to the Dualsense. - You mentioned the haptics in the Sense controllers (which will be great), but didn't really talk about the haptics in the headset. It might not seem like a big deal, but aside from adding some immersion (letting you feel everything from raindrops to headshots), they are also designed to help reduce or eliminate motion sickness. The higher resolution and framerate will help with that as well, so hopefully nobody playing PSVR 2 will have to experience motion sickness. - You're sort of right about the Move controllers being tacked on to PSVR 1. It was actually designed to work with the Moves, as most of it was using existing tech (the controllers and the camera). It was sort of an experiment by Sony to see what they could do with VR using tech that they already had. Can't wait to see what they can do with a headset where every element was designed for VR, and where the console it's running off was also designed to support VR! - RE8 will definitely be scarier in VR. I've heard it isn't as scary as 7 was though... which was effing TERRIFYING in VR. It was an amazing experience despite the limitations of PSVR 1. - GT7 is almost guaranteed to get a PSVR 2 version. The director of the franchise has said some very positive things about VR, and teased at future announcements. Considering it has a split-screen mode, they've already overcome the biggest hurdle for getting the game in VR (rendering two different views at the same time). GT Sport had limited PSVR 1 support, but it wasn't anywhere close to the full game due to technical limitations. - PSVR 1 DOES have a ton of awesome games, but unfortunately it doesn't sound like PSVR 2 will be backward compatible. We should get some remasters of PSVR 1 games though, and sequels. The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners was one of the best PSVR 1 games, and its sequel is coming to PSVR 2. Moss Book 2 is also all but confirmed for PSVR 2 as well. Still, there will be some brilliant games like Statik and Here They Lie that probably won't make their way over, and it's really a shame. - The Astro games you're thinking of are Astro Bot Rescue Mission for PSVR (amazing game, likely getting a PSVR 2 port), Astro's Playroom for PS5, and there was also The Playroom VR (which had a short Astro platforming mini-game) - Just a note on PSVR 2 games. According to a VERY credible leak, Sony is focusing on console quality triple-A games, and specifically mentioned bringing a lot of hybrid games to PSVR 2. That's games that are fully playable either in VR or without VR, like RE8 and probably GT7. I could see any first-person games from Sony (shooters and racing games especially) getting hybrid support. As for 3rd person franchises, I think they're more likely to get spinoff games like Horizon Call of the Mountain. These are probably going to be made using assets from a recent flat game (in that case Horizon Forbidden West), so Sony can make them for less than it'd normally cost to make a triple-A game, which is important since VR is still sort of a niche audience (at least for now). Between these types of games, partnerships with 3rd parties like Capcom, and a constantly strengthening indie scene, I think PSVR 2 will have a much stronger software lineup than any previous VR headset. Your number 1 reason really resonated with me, I just felt it years ago. It's a recurring theme in the PSVR community, and probably the larger VR community as well. Most people had just started to feel like they'd already seen what flat games had to offer. VR gave us something that felt really NEW. It doesn't hit everyone the same way, but for myself it really was a profound experience. Since I started playing VR games, I've almost given up on flat games as they just can't captivate and immerse me the same way. I've owned a PS5 since Feb 2021, and so far I've used it almost exclusively for PSVR 1 games (aside from Returnal and Demon's Souls). Another thing I love about VR is that since it's still so new, developers haven't figured everything out yet. Just like you said, there's room to grow. It reminds me a lot of gaming in the mid-90's (before your time, I'm sure), when games were transitioning to 3D. Nobody knew what the hell they were doing, which lead to a lot of janky, broken, or just bad games. But it also lead to a lot of experimentation and creativity. The rules hadn't been written yet, so it was an incredibly interesting and exciting time to be a fan of the medium. You've missed out on some of that early experimentation already, but the VR space is still incredibly interesting and experimental. Some of the roughest corners have been smoothed off, but it's still a bit raw. Honestly I'm a little jealous. As much as I've loved my last 4 years playing VR, I can't imagine how it'd be jumping in with PSVR 2. MY mind is probably going to be blown, but for someone who's never experienced it before? I can't even imagine... Do yourself a huge favour. Go in as blind as you can. Don't try the Quest 2 beforehand. PSVR 2 isn't going to be Ready Player One, but it will probably be an amazing experience. Hope you have a blast! Sorry for writing a novel in your comment section! :P
Appreciate your long and thought out comment! I can tell your passionate about VR. Yeah I wanna try to go in as blind as I can.
The processing box did not give extra power though. It was made to split the video feedback for tv and the vr and audio processing. Ps4 did the vr rendering by itself
@@solid_justice5855 You're absolutely right. I keep forgetting it just handled audio processing. Still, that is one thing that was offloaded from the main PS4 into the breakout box. The way some of those games ran, they needed all the help they could get 😬
For anyone who has not tried proper VR yet but is going to jump in on psvr2...man you are in for a treat. VR is a totally different medium and game devs are just starting to nail what really works in VR, this is the perfect jumping in point for traditional console gamers who have held off so far...great vid dude :)
Right?! I've been playing PSVR for the past 4 years, and MY mind will probably be blown by PSVR 2. I can't imagine trying VR for the first time with it. It just looks like such a massive leap forward for VR (a bit less so for high end PC VR but still). And yeah, developers are really starting to figure out great VR gameplay, yet there's also still a ton of experimentation. It's a great time to get into VR!
Thank you!
