Malle moto are the true heroes of this event. Impressive result by Javi Vega. Bummed for Zacchetti who had electrical issues at the end of the last stage. Missoni completed the race and it is a huge accomplishment for him not being a racer (he's the CEO of the Missoni fashion brand)

I hope KOVE can race a few more W2RC events with Mason this year to keep developing the bike for Dakar 2026.

Even the best factory teams can struggle year after year to get to the top because there are so many factors involved that are not in their control. Rider injury, navigation errors, changing conditions and weather, actions of other competitors, etc. However, mechanical issues are the area the factory must be absolutely on top of and that come from constant heavy testing to show up every potential problem and to redesign the bike to eliminate it. Quality control at the factory must be 100% and that's an area the Chinese are working on. Good enough is not. The best Dakar rider in the world can't do very well if there is any mechanical failure on his bike. But nobody is perfect so there needs to be constant quality checks at every stage of design and fabrication as well as in the pits or bivouac every night. One bolt or nut or screw that doesn't get tightened could easily cost the entire race.

Im not sure if what's the agreement with KOVE and Mason. The only information available is that a factory rider position has been secured. With this in mind, it is hoped that more time can be spent with the bike, allowing for a better understanding of its behavior and preferences. Similar to Neels and Sunnier, who have dedicated the entire year to their bikes, this approach is encouraged. There is a strong belief in the ability to maximize the bike's potential, so spending additional time with it is essential. Feel free to push the limits until the mechanics identify the optimal settings for the bike. By next year, KOVE will be better prepared and more confident with the knowledge gained during this process. Best of luck to Mason and KOVE!
