D’arce is pronounced “Deh’Ark”. I believe it’s referencing Joan of Arc. Joan’s full name was Jehanne d'Arc. “D’”is shorthand for “De” which essentially means “belongs too/of/from”

It's funny how this game is abysmal to play, and I've rarely played / enjoyed the 1st one, yet I think it's one of the best games ever just because of how unforgivingly bleak it is. Same for the punishments you get for just playing it. I played the 2nd one sparingly as well, but I enjoy 2 way more because of how much more "complete" it feels.

The most disturbing, gut wrenching, terrifying thing about this type of cosmic horror... is how it mimicks reality so well it's basically indistinguishable from it. There are millions if not billions of lives among insects, plants, fish etc that all live in the same world as ours. Most of the planet, actually, is covered by water and goes so deep into the earth we have literally no idea wtf you can find there. When we first discovered giant squids living in the deepest depths of the water, living completely separated from us yet on the same space as us, that's how these cosmic entities such as Gro-goroth would see us. There is the perspective of a human who is utterly annihilated just by the PRESENCE of the faint TRACE of a god... and there's the perspective of a god who left the world of humans since forever and is not even aware of the insanity that the human is going through just by standing next to some echoes of its presence. Things just happen to happen. And some things, like the people in Rondon, are happy because they don't know what lurks beneath. As long as things stay separated... all is fine. But when you discover just a glimpse of the truth, the weight of that realization, the burden of knowledge is soul crushing. "The god of fear and hunger acknowledges your suffering" and that acknowledgement, that simple recognition of your existence, is enough to instantly blast your entire existence from the annals of history. Your life, all the people you met and loved, the food you ate, the laughs you had, all gone in a fraction of a second. The same thing happens to ants from a human perspective. The same thing happens to bacteria from an amoeba's perspective. You're not special. Your efforts are not more important. Your life is not the magnificent sun you think it is. You're a piece of an enormous machine called life and it doesn't need you. You need it. You cling to it. You struggle. And that struggle is what makes you human.

The idea that the cycle is actually Elster's and not Arianne's actually makes even more sense when you remember that the two options their order gave them was to either kill Arianne or put her in they cryopod forever and in every ending she is already in the cryopod. A less credible theory of mine is that Arianne had already managed to save Elster by sending her consciousness back to the unit Adler ordered and the cycle is her not accepting that.

I always preferred how Mass Effect handled cosmic horror. Makes the threat still a threat without disrespecting the capabilities of sentient life to adapt and learn. We can overcome even that which appears impossible, with enough time and working together.

I love the story, characters, atmosphere, setting, and how it presents the story. Also I love that some parts can have multiple interpretations, it has a lot of symbolism, there's the references of the book and the paintings, it's like a rabbit hole or an iceberg of itself. I've watched 3 hours videos analyzing it and I want more, I can't get enough of videos about this game.

FYI, it seems chapter 1 is "synchronicity", not "synchronization". one of the devs expressed frustration over that particular mistranslation since he seems to see it quite often. I should add that I only know this because someone else mentioned this in a different analysis video. Yes, I'm also obsessed with this game, too lmao. Great video and looking forward to more from you!.

I’ve been playing the game with my dad and somehow we’re having a good time I mean the problem solving element is something my dad THRIVES in My dad has a pretty positive attitude towards the game He sees it as trial and error, everything we do will teach us some kind of lesson on how the game works. And he’s an engineer by profession so again, this sort of gameplay is in his element He picked Cahara and we plan to go for ending A It’s been a weirdly wholesome experience…

One issue is using trump as a example Like… he just wanted america to stay to itself and pit itself and its people first, 3 days after this he was almost shot. The politics would have been better if it used the ‘right side of history’ and the ‘moral ends decide history’ crowd, who dictate that they are moral. Given the shift of ‘MR Beast is evil’ to ‘Mr. beast is the best!’ Change, and difference of take between Dr Disrespect and Kris(?) based on pronouns… this happened just a few weeks later but… it really could have made it a but more less main stream following and more interesting

I gotta be honest guys, i don't play these "dungeon" style games, or games that are big on magic. I never been a fan of top down games either and i definitely dont enjoy turn based combat. All that being said This game looks absolutely nuts. I can't stop watching videos about it. I cant help but think of a thriller/adventure movie with some horror heavily mixed in. This game seems oretty crazy and i would consider playing it, though im sure I wouldnt make it far. Im having lots of fun watching other people play and explain it though!
