Any additional info on fitting the Quaife? Other than the driveshaft what other parts needed to be fabricated?
@@dustyk43 we will have a kit for a bolt in setup later in. Need to make sure it works well first.
Is it still possible to rev about 7400rpm? 2.5L kit has longer stroke than oem stroke
@@일로와-m7f it can be, but no power gain revving it more. Its was more for safe guard with stronger rods and material.
Did you or HKS equip the block with a dry sump or some kind of solution for the chronic oiling issues those engines have? Only reason I ask is down the line I might want to build one for my Type RA using the fueling set up of the BRZ/GR86 and a built bottom end.
@@ACCAW11 is still a stock pan with a baffle plate only. If we were building a time attack car, 100% will be dry sump! You mean you want to run dual injection with your type RA?
@ FA24 with dual injection at some point yes.
@ well can’t just add the DI. Mean if you want to make power, easier just stay with a EJ25 and sleeve that. With this car we are it really chasing for big power.
Who did the initial suspension setup on the car? It seems like they hit it all wrong to start. It’s not like this is a new model car that no one has experience with yet, this chassis has been around for some time and baseline setups should be pretty easy.
@@spatulaman2753 the car, pretty much left the workshop and straight on the track, think what’s setup on the time attack car and this road setup car is too much of a difference. The weight wasnt taken in account, which is why the driving was slightly off aswell. It’s the first ever time there for the car and the driver, if we had another two more sessions and not rushed we could have fixed few more things and cut another second or so off that day or as it is. Hopefully we get a re run!

@@znrwc88 thanks for watching! Will be cool if we did it in Chinese 😅 , love watching your channel too! The merchant really finished building but the initial cost was not that expensive. We can’t build one for that price and send it to Japan for a drive, it’s honestly a good deal. But we have worked with HKS for bussiness for a long time. I won’t say it’s a proper tuned car yet. Still got abit to sort and fine tuned 😊😊

At a disadvantage on the east coast to those in California, who can still attack in the US winter season. We are in a holding pattern, with sat on hands, holding butt cheeks because it’s been so cold.
@@Slowcarfastbeans yeeee, have been to Superlap Battles and at COTA. Sort of know what is like. The Time attack season in Japan starts Mid Nov and finish mid a March, as the Japanese believes it’s the best time to run.

@@samz0r2 there is two more second easily in that car without adding more power. Boost up 1.2 bar or 450hp will dip into the 58s ( full trim )
Im not a pro but i have seen lots of tsukuba track videos and most of the driver take the turn one staying inside rather than your style of staying wide so maybe can do 2nd gear staying inside and flat out after that. Im not a pro but just sharing huhu best of luck!

@ we got no control of running on the car or setup.. but we are trying to go out again if we can… but a lot will need to be changed and altered

@@SeatTimeNZ Time attack. I picked up a BRZ to get into the hobby. I want to boost the vehicle down the line and was looking at the HKS turbo kit, though I need to figure out how having a Gen 2 engine in a Gen 1 body would work. I'm all ears with any suggestions.
@@RubberPanda it’s not that hard at all, especially if it’s a time attack car or dedicated race car. The step two stroker kit will handle abit of power, you really need Motec or life ecu to control the the dual injection properly. Too high pressure on the DI it’s not a good thing and you really needed the port injection for top up and to make good power.
@@RubberPanda myself, have not tuned a. Built fa25 with the Hks turbo kit. It will be interesting how hard we can push it on ethanol. I think the box set turbo won’t be enough for top end power. Even my laps was far from perfect but it was all cornering speed making up the laptime there. It was sort of good it was under powered, can’t imagine if the car was powerful and the handling was not prefectly setup 🥲😅
@@SeatTimeNZ I'm going to start the Hipermax coilovers and slowly build from there. The stroker kit may be a good starting point for power. I'm located in the States and was thinking of the Link ECU because of its popularity here. Again, thanks for the videos; it's been an inspiring series.

@ it’s only tuned to 10psi on pump gas and still stock fuel system. Says 330hp, watch the Incar, there’s not much straight line speed.

@ if you watch the journey from the beginning it will explains abit more. The idea was to take a show car or demo car from Autosaloon and see how fast we can go at Tsukuba without a local or professional driving it. It’s to proof if the kit works and if we can go under a min first go with normal driver, driving it, which willl relate if another person buying this kit, they can go just as fast and the combo works.

From your description it wmsounds like the car is setup for a lot of trail braking.. but obviously the tyres pressures are too high.. beed to come down to around 30psi hot tops! Atleast thats what i like anyway and it sounds like you do too! Dont be afraid to give them your preference. I see the language barrier you mentikn but im sure someone can pass on the info. I can tell you wsnt then to do their thing due to respect too. I just dont want yoi going home thinking, i shoudlve tried this or that. Good luck! @@mayk3lll thankssss . Well I thought they will send me out in like 20-22psi.. we came in at 36 after two laps.. session finish was over 40… heaps of things going on. Next session was abit better
@@mayk3lll and yesss totally!! I mean only my first drive in that car ever and that track!! Was to hyped just circling around, but I was checking temp and checking tune at the same time, I’m a tuner myself and a mechanic. It’s always hard to concentrate just being a driver 😅😅

@@mayk3lll temp problem can be sorted easily, well depends what you consider easy. Needs a Bigger radiator, vented bonnet and maybe a bigger intercooler. Also a fresh air feed to the turbo intake will help. But we are trying to proof a point if a demo car from the car show will work on the track. Answer will be on the next episode and session 2! What’s the difference between 90’s tuning style and modern?
Depends how you look at it, Engine Management will be one and the components used, from Turbo to even a hose clamps. Not saying the 90s doesnt work but the rest of the world has moved on but alot of place in Japan still carrying on the tradition

You spent EEEYUUUUUUGGEEEE money for an LS3 and sequential gear box and the electronics to make that work. I'm in Lemons and spent 3K on my race car minus the safety stuff. If you're in that range...Why not spend some more money on a better helmet and a better platform like a rear mid engined tubular chassis that will do a lot more with that power than the BRZ? Just look up Mike Skeen and LS-swapped LMP3 for what you could do if you're going to throw money in the shredder.
@@DivadNoodeldehm-lz2gm I don’t own the car… did suggest the owner to buy a tcr or a ex factory race car butss the owner had the car and most of the parts in it was from the FA20 setup, it was just a engine package that got upgraded. They are not desperate of winning a race or getting position. They just want to drive and reliable package. The original LS3 was sitting around and meant to get swapped into a commodore with a LS1.
@@DivadNoodeldehm-lz2gm if you followed GTRNz there are lots of build like this, spend a lot of money on and it would be a lot easier to buy a factory build car and much more reliable too for cheaper price but some want to be special and want to play I guess 😅
